Align your HR credentials to consulting operations
BCG's HR function supports a high-performance consulting workforce, so frame your resume around talent acquisition, performance management, or learning and development in professional services contexts. Generic HR experience reads weaker than experience tied to knowledge-worker environments.
Target BCG's HR roles at the associate or specialist level
BCG's HR openings for international candidates tend to cluster in specialist and associate-level positions tied to recruiting operations or HR business partnering. Applying at the right level increases your chances of landing a role that has a clear visa sponsorship pathway.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open HR positions at BCG
BCG posts HR roles across multiple channels, making it easy to miss openings suited to visa-sponsored candidates. Use Migrate Mate to filter Boston Consulting Group's current Human Resources listings by visa type and identify which roles align with your sponsorship situation.
Understand H-1B cap timing relative to your start date
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS only accepts petitions in April for an October 1 start date. For HR roles with a summer or fall hire date at BCG, confirm whether your situation qualifies for a cap-exempt filing before accepting an offer timeline.
Prepare a specialty occupation narrative for HR roles
HR positions can face USCIS scrutiny over whether they qualify as a specialty occupation under H-1B standards. Documenting that your role requires a specific degree, such as industrial-organizational psychology or HR management, strengthens the petition BCG files on your behalf.

Does Boston Consulting Group sponsor H-1B visas for Human Resources?
Yes, BCG sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Human Resources roles. To be eligible, the position must meet USCIS specialty occupation standards, meaning it requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as human resources management, organizational psychology, or a related discipline. BCG's HR team can clarify sponsorship eligibility during the offer process.
How do I apply for Human Resources jobs at Boston Consulting Group?
Applications go through BCG's careers portal, where HR roles are listed by office and function. Migrate Mate also aggregates BCG's open Human Resources positions filtered by visa sponsorship type, which makes it easier to identify roles aligned with your work authorization situation before applying directly through BCG's official site.
Which visa types does BCG commonly use for Human Resources positions?
BCG sponsors several visa categories for HR roles depending on your nationality and situation. H-1B is the most common for candidates from countries without a dedicated treaty visa. Australian nationals may qualify for the E-3, and Canadian and Mexican nationals may be eligible for the TN visa. F-1 OPT and CPT are also supported for recent graduates actively working toward a longer-term visa.
What qualifications does BCG look for in HR candidates who need visa sponsorship?
BCG typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's or master's degree in human resources, organizational behavior, industrial-organizational psychology, or a closely related field. Beyond credentials, relevant experience in recruiting, HR business partnering, or talent development within professional services firms carries significant weight. A degree-to-role alignment also matters for visa petition purposes, particularly under H-1B specialty occupation requirements.
How do I plan my timeline if I need BCG to sponsor my visa for an HR role?
Timeline depends heavily on your visa category. F-1 OPT students must confirm their authorization end date aligns with BCG's hiring cycle. H-1B candidates without cap-exempt status need to account for the April lottery window and an October 1 start date. E-3 and TN visas move faster and can be processed closer to your intended start date, giving those candidates more flexibility in offer timing.
