Frame your credentials around internal consulting support
BCG's Business Operations roles sit behind client-facing teams and require demonstrable experience in project management, resource allocation, or operational systems. Highlight these directly on your resume rather than leading with client-delivery experience.
Target BCG's internal operations recruiters directly
BCG differentiates between consulting and business services hiring tracks. Search for roles under BCG's Business Services or Operations umbrella, not its consulting pipeline. Applying through the wrong track delays review and signals a misread of the firm's structure.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Business Operations roles at BCG
BCG posts Business Operations openings across multiple offices, and availability shifts regularly. Migrate Mate filters specifically for visa-sponsoring employers in consulting, so you can track BCG's live openings without sorting through roles that don't offer sponsorship.
Clarify sponsorship scope before signing an offer
BCG's sponsorship process is handled internally through its legal and HR teams. Before accepting an offer, confirm in writing which visa category they intend to file, who manages the petition, and whether premium processing is available for your situation.

Find Business Operations at Boston Consulting Group JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Boston Consulting Group sponsor H-1B visas for Business Operations?
Yes, BCG sponsors H-1B visas for Business Operations roles. The firm has a consistent history of filing H-1B petitions across its business services functions, which include operational, project management, and support roles that qualify as specialty occupations. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, BCG would file during the annual April registration window, and your start date would be October 1 at the earliest.
How do I apply for Business Operations jobs at Boston Consulting Group?
Apply through BCG's careers portal under its Business Services track, not the consulting associate pipeline. Business Operations roles are posted separately and reviewed by a different recruiting team. Tailor your application to demonstrate operational impact in professional services or complex organizations. You can also browse BCG's open Business Operations roles filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate before applying directly.
Which visa types does Boston Consulting Group commonly use for Business Operations roles?
BCG sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Business Operations positions. H-1B is the most broadly applicable across nationalities. Australian citizens can use the E-3, which has no lottery. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status. F-1 graduates can start on OPT while BCG pursues longer-term sponsorship.
What qualifications does BCG expect for Business Operations roles?
BCG typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, operations management, or a related discipline. For mid-level and senior roles, demonstrated experience in project coordination, process improvement, or internal consulting support within a professional services environment carries significant weight. Familiarity with how consulting firms structure internal operations is a practical advantage over general business backgrounds.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take at BCG for Business Operations hires?
Timeline depends on visa type. TN and E-3 sponsorship can move quickly, often within a few weeks of an approved offer. H-1B petitions filed under the annual cap take longer, with a start date no earlier than October 1. USCIS premium processing is available for H-1B and can reduce adjudication to 15 business days. Build at least three to four months of lead time into your job search if you're targeting a cap-subject H-1B.
