Align your background to semiconductor operations
Applied Materials hires Business Operations professionals who understand capital equipment cycles, fab customer dynamics, or manufacturing supply chains. Frame your experience around these contexts specifically, not generic corporate operations, to pass initial screening.
Target roles tied to existing LCA filings
Search DOL's FLAG system for Applied Materials Labor Condition Applications in Business Operations job titles. Roles already covered by certified LCAs are further along the sponsorship pipeline and signal active hiring intent for visa-eligible candidates.
Confirm your visa category before applying
Applied Materials sponsors several nonimmigrant categories including H-1B, TN, and H-1B1. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT expiration date early. The H-1B cap-gap provision protects your status if a timely H-1B petition is filed before your OPT expires.
Use Migrate Mate to find open roles directly
Business Operations openings at Applied Materials that include visa sponsorship aren't always flagged clearly on general job boards. Browse Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Applied Materials Business Operations positions where sponsorship is confirmed.
Prepare for a cross-functional interview structure
Applied Materials Business Operations interviews typically involve stakeholders from finance, engineering, and supply chain. Prepare case-based examples showing how you coordinated across technical and business teams, since sponsorship decisions often involve multiple hiring managers.
Understand the PERM timeline if targeting a Green Card
If your goal is permanent residency through EB-2 or EB-3, Applied Materials must complete PERM labor certification before filing your immigrant petition. This process can take 12 to 24 months, so raise the conversation with your recruiter before or during the offer stage.

Does Applied Materials sponsor H-1B visas for Business Operations?
Yes, Applied Materials sponsors H-1B visas for Business Operations roles. The company participates in the annual H-1B lottery for cap-subject candidates and also hires candidates already holding H-1B status through transfers. Business Operations positions typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria, particularly roles requiring degrees in business, finance, supply chain, or engineering management.
How do I apply for Business Operations jobs at Applied Materials?
Applications go through Applied Materials' careers portal, where Business Operations roles are listed under functions like supply chain, finance operations, and program management. You can also find visa-sponsorship-confirmed openings on Migrate Mate, which filters for Applied Materials roles specifically open to international candidates. Tailor your resume to reflect semiconductor industry context where possible.
Which visa types does Applied Materials commonly use for Business Operations hires?
Applied Materials sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, TN, J-1, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT for Business Operations hires, as well as immigrant categories including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term employees. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business roles. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and where you are in the immigration process.
What qualifications does Applied Materials expect for Business Operations roles?
Most Business Operations roles at Applied Materials require a bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, supply chain, or a related field, with some senior roles expecting an MBA. Cross-functional project management skills and familiarity with ERP systems are commonly listed in job descriptions.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process take at Applied Materials?
From application to start date, the process typically runs three to six months. If you need an H-1B and aren't already in status, timing depends on the annual lottery window, which opens in March.
