Who We Are
Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale. Working at Samsara means you’ll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that’s shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, and Equipment Monitoring. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.
About the role:
Samsara's Go-to-Market Business Operations team is looking for curious, motivated and high-impact professionals to join the team. Our teams’ mandate is to increase revenue growth through the sales performance and efficiency of our Sales teams. We are a highly collaborative team that partners with sales leaders and cross-functionally to realize growing revenue targets, to scale the organization sustainably, and to address GTM challenges and opportunities. We are a team that seeks to have an outsized impact on Samsara and we achieve that ambition through rigorous and ongoing skill development.
This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US except the San Francisco Bay Metro Area, NYC Metro Area, and Washington, D.C. Metro Area.
You should apply if:
- You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will result in real-world impact – helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely.
- You have an innate curiosity about how businesses work: One day you’ll meet with someone in waste management, and the next you may be learning about the inner workings of a food distribution center. Our top sales team members seek to learn the ins and outs of the businesses they support in order to make a larger impact.
- You build genuine relationships with your customers: The industries we serve have relied on pen-and-paper solutions for years and haven’t been met with the type of technology we offer. Our customers value earned trust and human relationships built over time.
- You want to be with the best: Samsara’s high-performance culture means you’ll be surrounded by the best and challenged to go farther than you have before.
- You are a team player: At Samsara, sales is a team sport. We help each other out by sharing best practices and focusing on winning as a team.
In this role, you will:
- Partner with Sales Leadership, Sales Planning, Sales Operations, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights into business drivers, financial performance, and risks.
- Develop and drive high-visibility initiatives to help scale performance and productivity to achieve sales growth targets.
- Analyze and diagnose sales team performance and own analytical models and sources of insights (performance forecasting, productivity models, etc).
- Support ongoing business activities and development of executive materials (memos, slides, business reviews, and executive presentations).
- Identify risks to growth goals and develop action plans to mitigate those risks.
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- 4-7 years of work experience in a management consulting firm and/or as a Sales Operations / Business Operations or Financial Analyst.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to independently manage multiple projects on a tight deadline.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Advanced decision-making, analytical, and logical reasoning skills, including the ability to be proactive and adapt quickly.
- Kind and collaborative orientation who is energized by working with a lot of different types of people from many teams (sense of humor is a big plus).
- Deep comfort with analytical tools (e.g., Tableau, Excel, Salesforce, Google Sheets, Databricks) and/or willingness to expand skill set to tackle new problems.
- Experience working with sales leadership and partnering with cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and enthusiastic about improving efficiencies to increase sales.
- Fully fluent in English.
An ideal candidate also has:
- Insatiable drive and commitment to personal growth.
- High level of intellectual curiosity and honesty because we love to debate ideas. Losing a debate to a good argument is as exciting as winning one with a good argument.
- Familiarity with the evolving AI tool environment, and a curiosity to experiment on how to leverage AI to solve problems.

Frame your credentials around operational impact
Samsara's Business Operations roles sit at the intersection of hardware deployments and data-driven process improvement. Quantify outcomes you've owned, such as cycle time reductions or cross-functional project completions, because that framing directly matches what hiring managers here evaluate.
Identify roles that align with LCA job categories
When targeting Samsara specifically, match your target job title to the specialty occupation categories DOL recognizes on a Labor Condition Application. Titles like Business Operations Analyst or Strategy and Operations Manager carry clearer LCA precedent than ambiguous hybrid titles.
Clarify your visa type early in screening calls
Samsara sponsors multiple nonimmigrant categories, so stating your current status and what you need, whether that is H-1B cap-subject, OPT extension, or TN, lets the recruiter route your file to the right internal process before the offer stage creates timeline pressure.
Time your application around the H-1B registration window
If you need H-1B sponsorship, USCIS opens registration each March for an October 1 start date. Targeting Samsara job postings in the preceding November through February window gives your offer enough runway for your employer to file within that annual cycle.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active sponsorship-eligible openings
Filter Migrate Mate's job board by company and role type to find Samsara Business Operations postings verified for visa sponsorship eligibility, so you spend your applications on roles where the infrastructure to support your status change is already in place.
Prepare for PERM-related delays if targeting a Green Card
Samsara sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, but PERM labor certification through DOL currently runs over a year. If permanent residency is your goal, raise it with your future employer during offer negotiation so the timeline is built into your career planning from the start.

Does Samsara sponsor H-1B visas for Business Operations?
Yes, Samsara sponsors H-1B visas for Business Operations roles. The company has consistently filed H-1B petitions for this function across analytical, strategy, and cross-functional operations positions. If you are cap-subject, your offer timing needs to align with USCIS's annual March registration window for an October 1 employment start date.
How do I apply for Business Operations jobs at Samsara?
Applications go through Samsara's careers page, where Business Operations openings are listed by team and location. For roles that require visa sponsorship, Migrate Mate is the recommended starting point, since it surfaces verified sponsorship-eligible postings at Samsara so you can confirm the role fits your status before applying and investing time in interviews.
Which visa types does Samsara commonly sponsor for Business Operations roles?
Samsara sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, and employment-based Green Cards including EB-2 and EB-3 for Business Operations positions. F-1 OPT is the most common entry point for recent graduates, while H-1B transfers and cap-subject petitions cover candidates already in the workforce or transitioning from student status.
What qualifications does Samsara expect for Business Operations candidates?
Samsara's Business Operations roles typically require a bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering, or a quantitative field, with practical experience in process improvement, data analysis, or program management. Familiarity with connected hardware or IoT environments is an advantage given the company's product focus, and prior experience in a fast-scaling technology company strengthens an application.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Samsara Business Operations offer?
Timeline depends on your status. OPT and TN transitions can move in weeks. H-1B cap-subject petitions require USCIS approval with an October 1 start date, so expect a six-month or longer gap between offer and day one. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM adds over a year in DOL processing before USCIS petition filing begins.
