Total Rewards
At Samsara, we build for the people who keep the global economy moving. We want owners, not passengers, which is why our rewards are designed to fuel high-impact builders. Our compensation program delivers above-market total compensation through a combination of base salary, performance-based bonus/variable pay, and equity (for eligible roles) in a high-growth public company. We meaningfully differentiate pay for our top performers, who have the opportunity to earn above-market compensation that can outpace the broader market over time.
Beyond compensation, we provide the foundations that enable long-term success: a flexible, employee-led remote model, a professional development stipend, comprehensive health and parental leave plans, and more. If you're ready to build for the long term and own the outcome, your journey starts here.
Flexible Working
At Samsara, we embrace a flexible working model that caters to the diverse needs of our teams. Our offices are open for those who prefer to work in-person and we also support remote work where it aligns with our operational requirements. For certain positions, being close to one of our offices or within a specific geographic area is important to facilitate collaboration, access to resources, or alignment with our service regions. In these cases, the job description will clearly indicate any working location requirements. Our goal is to ensure that all members of our team can contribute effectively, whether they are working on-site, in a hybrid model, or fully remotely. All offers of employment are contingent upon an individual's ability to secure and maintain the legal right to work at the company and in the specified work location, if applicable.

Frame Your Tech Sales Background Precisely
Samsara hires Business Development candidates who can speak to hardware-software integration and fleet or operations use cases. Tailor your resume to show experience selling or developing partnerships in IoT, telematics, or industrial technology before you apply.
Verify Your OPT Timeline Before Interviewing
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your remaining authorization window against Samsara's typical hiring cycle. Business Development roles often involve multi-stage interviews spanning several weeks, and a tight OPT expiration can complicate an offer before H-1B sponsorship kicks in.
Target Roles Aligned With Samsara's Vertical Focus
Samsara structures Business Development around specific industry verticals like trucking, construction, and field services. Applying to a vertical where you have domain knowledge strengthens your specialty occupation case and makes the employer's H-1B petition more defensible with USCIS.
Understand How the H-1B Cap Affects Your Offer Timing
If you need a new H-1B, USCIS registration opens in March for an October 1 start date. Discuss this calendar with your recruiter early so Samsara's immigration team can build the right filing timeline into your offer structure.
Browse Samsara's Open Roles Through Migrate Mate
Filter Business Development openings at Samsara by visa type to find roles that match your current status. Migrate Mate surfaces sponsorship-confirmed postings so you can prioritize applications where your authorization pathway is already supported.
Prepare for PERM Documentation If Targeting Long-Term Status
If Samsara moves you toward EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, the PERM labor certification process requires detailed documentation of your duties and qualifications. Align your job description during hiring to accurately reflect a specialty occupation from the start, since PERM filings are based on that record.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Samsara sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, Samsara sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development roles. The company works with immigration counsel to file H-1B petitions for qualifying hires, including cap-subject registrations in March and cap-exempt transfers for candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer. Confirming your situation with the recruiter early in the process helps both sides plan around USCIS filing deadlines.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Samsara?
Applications go through Samsara's careers page, where Business Development roles are listed by vertical and region. You can also find sponsorship-confirmed openings through Migrate Mate, which filters active Samsara postings by visa type. Tailoring your application to a specific vertical, such as transportation or construction, improves your fit against the job requirements Samsara typically outlines.
Which visa types does Samsara commonly use for Business Development hires?
Samsara sponsors H-1B visas as the primary pathway for Business Development professionals, along with F-1 OPT and CPT for students earlier in their career. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, Samsara has supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for established employees.
What qualifications does Samsara look for in Business Development candidates?
Samsara's Business Development roles typically require a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field, along with experience in enterprise sales, channel partnerships, or solution selling in technology. Familiarity with IoT, fleet management, or industrial hardware strengthens your application and supports the specialty occupation classification USCIS requires for H-1B petitions.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take when joining Samsara?
Timeline depends on your visa category. H-1B cap cases follow a fixed federal calendar, with USCIS registration in March and an October 1 start date, though premium processing can accelerate petition adjudication to roughly 15 business days. OPT transfers and TN admissions can move faster. Building at least four to six weeks of buffer into your offer timeline for any sponsored status is a practical baseline.
