Job Roles at Coupang Companies
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Coupang Visa Sponsorship USA
Target engineering and technology roles first
Coupang's U.S. sponsorship activity is concentrated in software engineering, data science, and technical product roles. These positions align most closely with the H-1B specialty occupation standard, giving candidates with technical backgrounds the strongest path to sponsorship.
Understand Coupang's retail-tech hybrid identity
Coupang isn't a traditional retailer, it operates more like a logistics and technology company. Framing your experience around supply chain systems, platform infrastructure, or data-driven operations can make your application more relevant to what their teams actually build.
Prioritize Green Card-track positions if you're thinking long-term
Coupang has a strong track record of supporting permanent residence pathways, particularly EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship. If long-term U.S. residency is your goal, look for roles in departments with established PERM history when evaluating offers.
Check whether your OPT timeline aligns with Coupang's hiring cycles
Coupang sponsors F-1 OPT, but large retail-tech companies often hire on structured cycles. Apply early and confirm that your OPT expiration and any STEM extension window gives enough lead time before your status requires an H-1B transition.
Look for roles outside Seattle and beyond the core tech team
Coupang has expanded U.S. operations across logistics, operations management, and corporate functions. Sponsored roles aren't limited to pure engineering, operations and supply chain candidates with degree-matched backgrounds may also qualify for H-1B sponsorship.
Filter for verified sponsors before you apply
Not every Coupang job listing will mention sponsorship explicitly. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you confirm Coupang's track record before investing time in the application process.

Does Coupang sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Coupang sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles in the United States. Sponsorship is most common in software engineering, data science, and technical product functions, where positions meet the H-1B specialty occupation standard. Candidates should confirm sponsorship availability directly with the recruiter during initial outreach, as not every role is eligible.
What visa types does Coupang sponsor?
Coupang sponsors H-1B visas for skilled workers, Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 preference categories, and F-1 OPT for recent graduates. The company also sponsors TN visas for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional roles. The mix of visa types reflects a workforce that spans early-career hires through senior technical staff.
Which departments or roles at Coupang are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Technical roles in software engineering, machine learning, data engineering, and product management have historically been the strongest candidates for H-1B sponsorship at Coupang. Operations and supply chain roles with degree-matched backgrounds may also qualify. Green Card sponsorship through PERM tends to follow employees who have been in sponsored H-1B roles for one or more years.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at Coupang?
Migrate Mate is the most efficient way to find sponsored roles at Coupang, the platform filters jobs by verified sponsorship history so you're not guessing from job descriptions. Search for Coupang directly on Migrate Mate to see current openings and confirm which positions align with the visa types the company actively supports.
How do I approach the application process at Coupang as an international candidate?
Apply through Coupang's careers page and address your visa status early in the recruiter screening call rather than waiting for them to ask. Large retail-tech companies like Coupang typically have an internal immigration team or outside counsel, which means the logistics of sponsorship are manageable, the key is landing in a role where sponsorship has precedent. Tailor your application to the technical or operational scope of the role, not just your visa situation.
