Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Aviation Jobs at Duncan Aviation Jobs
Obtain FAA Certification Before Applying
Duncan Aviation prioritizes FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification for most hands-on aviation roles. Getting your A&P licensed before you apply removes a major hiring barrier and signals you can contribute from day one without additional credentialing delays.
Target Duncan Aviation's Maintenance Base Locations
Duncan Aviation operates large MRO campuses in Lincoln, Nebraska and Battle Creek, Michigan. Applying directly to roles tied to these fixed bases improves your chances, since those facilities have established workflows for processing work authorization relative to contract or mobile positions.
Request Sponsorship Confirmation Before Offer Stage
Aviation roles at MRO providers vary in sponsorship eligibility by specialty and seniority. Ask the recruiter directly which visa categories the specific role supports so you're not negotiating authorization type after a verbal offer has already been extended.
Understand OPT STEM Extension Eligibility for Aviation Degrees
If you graduated from a U.S. aviation science, aerospace engineering, or avionics program, your degree may qualify for a 24-month STEM OPT extension. Confirm your program's CIP code qualifies before relying on this window to cover your first employer transition.
Prepare a PERM-Ready Employment Record Early
If Duncan Aviation pursues EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship for your role, DOL's PERM process requires detailed documentation of your prior employment and credentials. Gather certified translations of foreign licenses, employment letters, and degree evaluations before the process starts to avoid delays.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Aviation Roles
Aviation sponsorship openings at large MRO employers fill quickly and aren't always flagged clearly on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter Duncan Aviation's open aviation positions by visa type so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed.

Find Aviation at Duncan Aviation JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Duncan Aviation sponsor H-1B visas for Aviations?
Duncan Aviation's sponsorship activity for aviation roles has historically centered on EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa pathways, along with F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates. H-1B sponsorship for aviation positions is less common at MRO companies since many hands-on technical roles are classified outside the specialty occupation definition USCIS requires for H-1B approval. Confirming with the recruiter upfront is essential.
How do I apply for Aviation jobs at Duncan Aviation?
Applications go through Duncan Aviation's careers portal on their official website, where roles are listed by location and department. Filter for aviation maintenance, avionics, or technical operations openings. If you need visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate to browse Duncan Aviation's open aviation positions filtered by visa type before applying, so you target only roles where sponsorship is a realistic outcome.
Which visa types are commonly used for Aviation roles at Duncan Aviation?
Duncan Aviation has sponsored aviation professionals through F-1 OPT and CPT for students completing aviation or aerospace programs at U.S. universities, J-1 for exchange-based technical training, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visa categories for longer-term hires. The right pathway depends on your current status, degree level, and whether the role is hands-on technical work or a qualifying specialty occupation.
What qualifications does Duncan Aviation expect for Aviation roles?
Most aviation maintenance and avionics roles require an FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate. Specialized positions in avionics or avionics integration may also require specific OEM training or experience with business jet platforms such as Bombardier, Gulfstream, or Dassault. Roles with a sponsorship pathway typically require credentials that are verifiable by DOL standards, so foreign-issued licenses should be evaluated for U.S. equivalency before you apply.
How long does the sponsorship process take for an Aviation hire at Duncan Aviation?
Timeline depends on the visa category. F-1 OPT authorization through your Designated School Official typically takes three to five months after application, so timing your job search accordingly matters. EB-3 PERM-based sponsorship through DOL is a multi-year process. If Duncan Aviation is sponsoring you on an immigrant visa pathway, expect the process to run concurrent with your employment rather than before your start date.
