Certify Your A&P Before Applying
Duncan Aviation's operations and maintenance roles almost always require an FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate. Securing your A&P before submitting applications signals job-readiness and removes a common barrier that slows sponsorship conversations for international candidates.
Target Duncan Aviation's Line Maintenance Openings
Operations Technician postings at Duncan Aviation frequently appear for their fixed-base operation facilities in Nebraska and Michigan. Filtering your search by those locations surfaces roles with the most active hiring pipelines and the strongest institutional familiarity with visa processing for this position.
Use Migrate Mate to Track Open Roles
Duncan Aviation posts Operations Technician vacancies across multiple facilities at different times. Use Migrate Mate to monitor and browse verified sponsorship-eligible openings at Duncan Aviation so you apply to live postings rather than discovering them after the window closes.
Align Your Resume to Duncan Aviation's MRO Scope
Duncan Aviation specializes in business aviation MRO, not commercial airline fleets. Framing your resume around turbine engine experience, avionics, or interior completions for business jets directly matches what their hiring managers assess for Operations Technician candidates at the screening stage.
Clarify OPT or CPT Timing With HR Early
If you're on F-1 status, Duncan Aviation has sponsored both OPT and CPT for this role. Confirm your authorization end date in your first HR conversation so they can assess whether the timeline fits their onboarding cycle before initiating any paperwork with USCIS.
Understand PERM Requirements for Permanent Sponsorship
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, Duncan Aviation must complete DOL's PERM labor certification, which involves documenting that no qualified U.S. workers were available. This process typically takes 12 to 18 months, so raising it after receiving an offer gives you realistic expectations on permanent residency timelines.

Does Duncan Aviation sponsor H-1B visas for Operations Technicians?
Duncan Aviation's documented sponsorship activity for Operations Technicians is concentrated in employment-based immigrant visa categories like EB-2 and EB-3, along with F-1 OPT and CPT. H-1B sponsorship for this role is less common because Operations Technician positions typically require hands-on technical credentials rather than the theoretical bachelor's degree alignment that H-1B specialty occupation status demands. If H-1B is your primary pathway, discuss your specific academic background with the hiring team directly.
Which visa types are most commonly used for Operations Technician roles at Duncan Aviation?
Duncan Aviation has sponsored Operations Technicians through F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3. OPT and CPT are typically used for recent graduates entering the role, while EB-3 is the more common long-term pathway for skilled technical workers in aviation maintenance and operations. Each pathway has different employer obligations and USCIS processing timelines, so clarifying which category applies to your situation early in the hiring process is essential.
What qualifications and experience does Duncan Aviation expect for Operations Technician roles?
Duncan Aviation generally expects candidates to hold an FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate for maintenance-oriented Operations Technician roles. Experience servicing business aviation platforms, familiarity with avionics systems, and proficiency in maintenance documentation standards are strong differentiators. Some postings also specify experience with inspection authorization or quality assurance processes. International candidates with equivalent credentials from abroad will typically need to demonstrate FAA certification equivalency before sponsorship can proceed.
How do I apply for Operations Technician jobs at Duncan Aviation?
You can browse and apply for Operations Technician openings at Duncan Aviation through Migrate Mate, which aggregates verified sponsorship-eligible roles and helps you identify which postings are currently active. Duncan Aviation posts openings across their facilities, so availability changes regularly. When applying, tailor your materials to their business aviation MRO specialization and address your visa status clearly in your cover communication so HR can assess sponsorship feasibility from the first touchpoint.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for an Operations Technician at Duncan Aviation?
Timeline depends significantly on which visa category applies. F-1 OPT authorization from USCIS typically takes two to three months after your program end date, so applications should be submitted well in advance. For EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, the DOL PERM labor certification alone takes 12 to 18 months, followed by USCIS petition processing. Starting sponsorship conversations at the offer stage, not after onboarding, gives you and Duncan Aviation the best chance of aligning timelines without gaps in work authorization.
