Align your credentials with Jabil's technical requirements
Jabil's Operations Technician roles typically require hands-on experience with electronics assembly, PCB inspection, or automated manufacturing systems. A two-year technical degree or equivalent industry certification strengthens your profile significantly before applying.
Target Jabil sites in high-volume manufacturing states
Jabil operates large production facilities in states like Florida, Tennessee, and California. Roles at these sites see the most consistent hiring activity, so prioritizing openings at those locations improves your chances of landing a sponsorship-eligible position.
Search open Operations Technician roles through Migrate Mate
Filter actively hiring Operations Technician positions at Jabil using Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles where sponsorship has been filed previously. This lets you focus on openings with a demonstrated sponsorship track record rather than applying blind.
Request an early LCA filing timeline from your hiring contact
For H-1B sponsorship, your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your petition. Ask Jabil's HR team when they typically initiate this step so you can plan your start date without gaps in authorization.
Document your hands-on manufacturing experience precisely
USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation status for technician roles. Gather records of specific equipment you've operated, quality systems you've used (such as IPC standards or Six Sigma tools), and any process improvement projects that demonstrate specialized technical knowledge.

Find Operations Technician at Jabil JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Jabil sponsor H-1B visas for Operations Technicians?
Yes, Jabil sponsors H-1B visas for Operations Technician roles, though approval depends on whether USCIS classifies the position as a specialty occupation. Roles requiring specific technical expertise in electronics manufacturing or process engineering are better positioned. If you're selected in the H-1B lottery, Jabil's HR team typically manages the petition process through in-house immigration support.
How do I apply for Operations Technician jobs at Jabil?
You can apply directly through Jabil's careers portal or browse sponsorship-verified openings on Migrate Mate, which filters for roles where Jabil has a history of supporting international candidates. Tailor your application to highlight specific manufacturing systems, quality standards, or process improvement experience relevant to the site you're targeting, as requirements vary by facility.
Which visa types does Jabil commonly use for Operations Technician roles?
Jabil sponsors H-1B visas for longer-term employment and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students in technical programs who need practical training authorization. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technologist categories. For permanent residency, Jabil has filed EB-2 and EB-3 petitions for operations staff, typically after a period of sustained employment.
What qualifications does Jabil expect for sponsored Operations Technician positions?
Jabil generally looks for candidates with an associate's or bachelor's degree in electronics technology, industrial engineering, or a related field, combined with hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with IPC assembly standards, automated test equipment, or lean manufacturing processes strengthens your application. USCIS also expects the role to require a specific technical background, so documenting your specialized skills carefully matters.
How do I estimate the timeline for getting work authorization through Jabil?
Timeline depends heavily on your visa category. F-1 OPT authorization from USCIS can take up to 90 days, so apply early through your DSO. TN status for Canadians can be granted at the border on the same day. H-1B petitions filed under regular processing take three to five months after the October 1 start date. Premium processing, available for an additional USCIS fee, reduces that to 15 business days.
