Certify Your Water or Wastewater Credentials Early
State-issued operator licenses, such as a Class I or Class II water treatment certification, directly strengthen your petition. Inframark's municipal contracts often require licensed operators, so holding or pursuing these credentials before applying puts your profile ahead.
Target Inframark's Municipal Contract Locations Strategically
Inframark operates under long-term government service contracts, meaning staffing needs are tied to specific municipalities. Search for openings in regions with active utility contracts, where workforce gaps are harder to fill locally and sponsorship becomes a practical hiring decision.
Understand the H-2B Cap Before Counting on It
H-2B visas are subject to a strict annual cap set by Congress, with two release periods each fiscal year. If Inframark pursues this route for your role, timing your application to align with cap availability and DOL prevailing wage certification deadlines is critical.
Prepare for PERM Labor Market Tests in Your Region
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship requires Inframark to complete a PERM audit with DOL, documenting that no qualified local candidates were available. For Operations Technician roles, having documented specialized experience, such as SCADA system operation or confined space entry, strengthens the employer's case.
Align Your Offer Timing with the Fiscal Year
Inframark's hiring cycles for utility operations often follow municipal budget calendars. Targeting your application in the first quarter of a municipality's fiscal year increases the chance your role is budgeted, which matters when an employer is deciding whether to absorb sponsorship costs.

Find Operations Technician at Inframark JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Inframark sponsor H-1B visas for Operations Technicians?
H-1B sponsorship is uncommon for Operations Technician roles at Inframark because these positions are typically classified as skilled trades rather than specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree in a specific field, which is the H-1B threshold. Inframark's sponsorship activity for this role is concentrated in EB-2, EB-3, and H-2B categories, which better fit the occupation's classification.
How do I apply for Operations Technician jobs at Inframark?
You can find and apply for Operations Technician positions at Inframark through the company's careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which filters active Inframark openings by visa sponsorship type. When applying, highlight any state-issued operator licenses, SCADA experience, or utility-specific certifications prominently, as Inframark's municipal contracts frequently require these qualifications for staffing compliance.
Which visa types does Inframark commonly use for Operations Technician sponsorship?
Inframark has sponsored Operations Technicians through EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories, which support permanent residence pathways, and through the H-2B nonimmigrant visa for temporary or seasonal staffing needs tied to municipal contracts. EB-3 is the most straightforward fit for skilled technical roles in water and wastewater operations, and H-2B is used when a position has a defined temporary need.
What qualifications does Inframark expect for Operations Technician roles?
Inframark typically looks for candidates with hands-on experience in water treatment, wastewater management, or utility infrastructure operations. State operator certifications, familiarity with SCADA systems, and experience with regulatory compliance under EPA or state environmental agencies all strengthen your profile. Roles operating under government contracts often require background check eligibility and physical fitness for field work in confined or outdoor environments.
How long does the sponsorship process take for an Operations Technician at Inframark?
For EB-3 sponsorship, expect the PERM labor market test with DOL to take six months to a year before the I-140 petition is even filed with USCIS. Total timelines from offer to work authorization can extend beyond two years depending on your country of birth and current visa priority dates. H-2B processing is faster but subject to cap availability and requires DOL certification ahead of the USCIS filing window.
