Certify Your Credentials Before Applying
Inframark's municipal water and wastewater contracts require state-issued operator certifications. Confirm your credentials are recognized in the state where the role is posted before submitting an application, since PERM labor certifications require you to meet the job's stated minimum qualifications at time of filing.
Target Roles in Understaffed Service Regions
Inframark operates in rural and suburban municipalities where licensed Technicians are hard to recruit locally. Roles in those markets are more likely to survive PERM recruitment audits, since DOL requires employers to demonstrate that no qualified U.S. workers were available for the position.
Search Open Technician Roles on Migrate Mate
Inframark posts Technician openings across multiple states at different stages of hiring activity. Use Migrate Mate to filter for Inframark specifically and identify which postings are active, so you're applying to live opportunities rather than positions that have already advanced through the PERM process.
Clarify Sponsorship Scope During Early Interviews
Inframark sponsors both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for Technicians, but H-2B sponsorship follows a separate seasonal or temporary framework. Ask your recruiter which pathway applies to your specific role and contract type so you understand the timeline and any conditional employment terms before accepting an offer.
Prepare for the PERM Recruitment Window
Once Inframark initiates PERM for your role, DOL requires the company to complete a defined recruitment period before filing. You can't be placed into the position in a permanent capacity until that window closes, so plan your current work authorization timeline to bridge at least six to twelve months before a petition is filed.
Verify Employment Authorization Through E-Verify
Inframark holds federal and state government contracts, which typically mandate E-Verify participation. Make sure your work authorization documents are in order before your start date, since E-Verify checks run immediately at onboarding and any mismatch triggers a Tentative Nonconfirmation that can delay your first day.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Inframark sponsor H-1B visas for Technicians?
Inframark does not follow the H-1B visa route for Technician roles. H-1B sponsorship requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, which typically means a role requiring a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Technician positions in water and wastewater operations are generally classified as skilled trades, making EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card sponsorship the more applicable pathway at Inframark.
Which visa types does Inframark typically sponsor for Technician roles?
Inframark's Technician sponsorship is primarily structured around employment-based Green Card categories, specifically EB-2 and EB-3, which cover skilled workers and those with advanced qualifications. For temporary or seasonal infrastructure contracts, Inframark has also used the H-2B visa nonimmigrant visa. The right category depends on the nature of your role, contract duration, and your educational background.
What qualifications does Inframark expect from Technician candidates seeking sponsorship?
Inframark's Technician roles in public sector water and wastewater operations typically require state operator certifications, hands-on experience with water treatment or distribution systems, and familiarity with regulatory compliance standards. For PERM-based sponsorship, your qualifications must match the minimum requirements stated in the job order exactly, so certifications you hold at the time of application directly affect sponsorship eligibility.
How do I apply for Technician jobs at Inframark?
You can browse current Inframark Technician openings through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for employers with a sponsorship track record so you're not guessing which postings are open to international candidates. When you apply, tailor your resume to the state-specific certification requirements listed in the job description, since Inframark's contracts are tied to regional regulatory standards that vary by location.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Technician role at Inframark?
For EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, the PERM labor certification process alone typically takes six to twelve months with DOL, followed by USCIS petition adjudication and, depending on your country of birth, a potentially long priority date queue. You'll need valid work authorization throughout. Starting the conversation with your Inframark recruiter early in the hiring process gives you the most accurate timeline for your specific situation.
