Align your degree to autonomy roles
Applied Intuition's core work spans autonomous vehicle simulation, validation, and software tooling. Frame your degree in computer science, robotics, or electrical engineering around these domains before applying. Recruiters evaluate whether your coursework maps directly to the team's technical stack.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before accepting
You need your employer enrolled in E-Verify to qualify for the 24-month STEM OPT extension. Ask Applied Intuition's recruiter to confirm enrollment status during the offer stage, not after. Skipping this step can cost you two years of additional work authorization.
Target roles with STEM OPT-eligible SOC codes
Not every role at Applied Intuition qualifies for the STEM OPT extension. Cross-reference your job title's Standard Occupational Classification code against the STEM Designated Degree Program List published by USCIS before signing an offer to avoid surprises at the 12-month mark.
Use Migrate Mate to track Applied Intuition H-1B history
Your OPT employer's H-1B filing history directly affects your long-term visa path. Migrate Mate surfaces Applied Intuition's Labor Condition Application data by role and year, so you can assess whether the company has consistently sponsored H-1B petitions for OPT students transitioning to full-time status.
Request your offer letter before the 90-day window
USCIS requires that your OPT employment start date fall within 90 days after your program end date. Secure a written offer letter from Applied Intuition early enough to give your Designated School Official adequate time to update your I-20 and submit the OPT recommendation without timeline conflicts.
Benchmark your salary against OFLC prevailing wages
Applied Intuition operates in a high-competition technical market. Use the OFLC Wage Search to find the prevailing wage for your occupation code and location before negotiating. Coming in below the DOL wage floor for your role complicates any future H-1B filing the company makes on your behalf.
Applied Intuition OPT Eligibility: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Applied Intuition sponsor OPT visas?
Applied Intuition doesn't sponsor OPT directly. OPT is work authorization USCIS grants to you as an F-1 student. What Applied Intuition does is hire students who already hold an OPT EAD, and it's enrolled in E-Verify, which is required if you want to qualify for the 24-month STEM OPT extension after your initial 12-month period.
Which roles at Applied Intuition are most accessible for OPT students?
Engineering and research-focused roles see the most OPT hires at Applied Intuition. Software engineering, machine learning, simulation, and technical program management positions align closely with the STEM degree programs most OPT students hold. Product and business roles exist but are less commonly filled by candidates on OPT status.
How do I navigate the OPT-to-H-1B transition at Applied Intuition?
Applied Intuition sponsors H-1B petitions for employees converting from OPT. The practical step is confirming this expectation during the offer stage rather than assuming it. Migrate Mate lets you review Applied Intuition's historical H-1B Labor Condition Application filings by role, which helps you assess how consistently the company has supported that transition before you accept.
What is the timeline for starting work at Applied Intuition on OPT?
Your OPT employment can begin on or after the start date listed on your EAD, as long as that date falls within 90 days of your program end date. Plan your offer negotiation and I-20 update timeline with your DSO accordingly. Applied Intuition's onboarding process requires a confirmed start date, so coordinate early to avoid gaps.
Does Applied Intuition require prior U.S. work authorization before hiring OPT students?
Applied Intuition hires F-1 students on OPT without requiring prior U.S. work experience. What matters is that your EAD is valid and your degree field is relevant to the role. For STEM OPT eligibility, verify your degree appears on the DHS STEM Designated Degree Program List and that Applied Intuition remains E-Verify enrolled through your extension period.
How does Applied Intuition hire OPT students?
OPT is work authorization granted directly to F-1 students after graduation — no employer petition is required. Applied Intuition can hire OPT students as soon as their EAD card is approved. STEM degree holders can extend OPT by 24 months when their employer is enrolled in E-Verify. Most companies that hire OPT students also support the transition to H-1B when the student's OPT period is ending. Check Applied Intuition's individual postings on Migrate Mate to confirm OPT acceptance per role.
