Align your degree to food science roles
Campbell's fills most OPT-eligible roles in food science, chemical engineering, and supply chain. Pull the O*NET occupation profile for your target role and confirm your degree field matches the specialty occupation definition before you apply. Mismatched credentials are the fastest way to lose an offer.
Verify Campbell's E-Verify enrollment early
STEM OPT's 24-month extension requires your employer to be enrolled in E-Verify. Confirm Campbell's enrollment before accepting an offer, not after. Ask your recruiter directly during the offer stage so your DSO has time to update your I-20 without compressing your start date.
Target supply chain and R&D teams specifically
Campbell's OPT hires cluster in R&D, quality assurance, and operations rather than marketing or finance. Searching by function rather than keyword surfaces roles where the team regularly onboards F-1 students and already understands the 60-day post-graduation timeline you're working within.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified OPT employers
Search Migrate Mate to identify Campbell's roles with documented H-1B filing history by job function. That history signals which teams have successfully navigated immigration paperwork before, giving you a clearer read on where an OPT-to-H-1B transition is realistic rather than speculative.
Request an explicit H-1B sponsorship commitment
OPT authorization expires, and Campbell's can't sponsor a petition until you have a qualifying offer for a specialty occupation role. Ask HR during the offer stage whether the team has sponsored H-1B for this position before. A yes signals institutional familiarity with the process and fewer surprises later.
Benchmark your salary against prevailing wage data
Campbell's must pay H-1B workers at or above the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location when the time comes to transition. Run your offer against the OFLC Wage Search now so you're not negotiating from a weak position after your OPT authorization is already ticking down.
Campbell's OPT Eligibility: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Campbell's sponsor OPT visas?
Campbell's doesn't sponsor OPT directly. OPT work authorization comes from USCIS and is tied to your F-1 status, not an employer petition. What Campbell's does is hire students who already hold a valid OPT EAD. For STEM OPT extensions, Campbell's must be enrolled in E-Verify, which allows you to extend your authorization by 24 months.
Which departments at Campbell's typically hire OPT students?
OPT hires at Campbell's concentrate in food science, chemical and process engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain operations. These functions align most directly with specialty occupation definitions and degree fields common among F-1 graduates. Corporate roles in marketing or general management are less likely to support an OPT-to-H-1B pathway.
How do I time my application given the 60-day OPT grace period?
You have 60 days after your program end date to find employment before your OPT EAD activates. Apply to Campbell's roles three to four months before graduation so offer negotiations and background checks clear before that window opens. Starting late compresses your options and puts your STEM extension timeline at risk.
How do I find Campbell's OPT roles with a clear H-1B path?
Migrate Mate surfaces Campbell's job listings filtered by H-1B Labor Condition Application history, letting you identify which roles and teams have sponsored immigration paperwork before. That history is the strongest signal you have that a team understands the transition process and is willing to support it again.
What should I ask Campbell's HR before accepting an OPT offer?
Confirm three things: whether the role qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines, whether Campbell's is enrolled in E-Verify for STEM OPT eligibility, and whether the team has sponsored H-1B for this position previously. Getting written clarity on all three before you sign protects your transition timeline if priorities shift after you start.
How does Campbell's hire OPT students?
OPT is work authorization granted directly to F-1 students after graduation — no employer petition is required. Campbell's can hire OPT students as soon as their EAD card is approved. STEM degree holders can extend OPT by 24 months when their employer is enrolled in E-Verify. Most companies that hire OPT students also support the transition to H-1B when the student's OPT period is ending. Check Campbell's's individual postings on Migrate Mate to confirm OPT acceptance per role.
