Align your degree with qualifying roles
Dairy Farmers of America hires OPT students into food science, agricultural engineering, supply chain, and data analytics roles. Cross-reference your degree field against their posted job requirements before applying so your OPT EAD authorization clearly matches the position's specialty area.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before accepting
If your degree falls under a STEM-designated CIP code, you'll need your employer enrolled in E-Verify to qualify for the 24-month STEM OPT extension. Ask Dairy Farmers of America's HR team directly whether they're E-Verify participants before signing an offer.
Time your application around OPT start dates
USCIS recommends filing your OPT application 90 days before your program end date, and your EAD can authorize work up to 60 days after graduation. Coordinate your offer letter start date with your DSO so your EAD validity covers your first day at Dairy Farmers of America.
Target cooperative and supply chain divisions
Dairy Farmers of America's core operations in milk processing, logistics, and cooperative management regularly bring in OPT students for operational and analytical roles. Focusing your search on these divisions increases your chances of landing in a team with established OPT hiring patterns.
Use Migrate Mate to research their H-1B history

Prepare your I-983 training plan early
If you're applying for the STEM OPT extension, your employer must co-sign Form I-983 outlining your training goals and supervision structure. Draft the learning objectives section before your offer is finalized so Dairy Farmers of America's HR team isn't the bottleneck when your extension window opens.
