Target roles matching your STEM classification
Fuyao Glass America's manufacturing operations demand engineers and technical specialists whose degrees fall under STEM-designated fields. Cross-reference your program's CIP code against the DHS STEM OPT designated degree list before applying, so you know whether your 12-month EAD can extend to 36 months.
Verify E-Verify enrollment before accepting any offer
STEM OPT extension requires your employer to be enrolled in E-Verify. Confirm Fuyao Glass America's active E-Verify participation before signing an offer letter. An employer that isn't enrolled cannot support your 24-month STEM extension, which cuts your authorized work period significantly shorter than planned.
Search Fuyao Glass America's LCA filings on Migrate Mate
Before your interview, pull Fuyao Glass America's Labor Condition Application history on Migrate Mate to see which job titles and wage levels the company has filed for most recently. That data tells you which roles the company actively pursues work authorization for and what compensation benchmarks look realistic.
Align your resume to glass manufacturing quality standards
Fuyao's U.S. facilities focus heavily on automotive glass production, where quality control and process engineering are central functions. Frame your coursework or internship experience around defect analysis, SPC methods, or materials testing to position yourself for the technical roles that drive their OPT hiring patterns.
File your STEM OPT I-983 training plan before your EAD expires
Your Designated School Official must recommend the STEM extension and USCIS must receive the I-983 training plan application before your current OPT EAD expires. Start working with Fuyao Glass America's HR team at least 90 days before your end date to complete the employer training plan documentation on time.
Ask directly about H-1B transition timelines during interviews
Companies in capital-intensive manufacturing sectors often plan staffing around annual H-1B cap cycles. Ask Fuyao Glass America's recruiter whether they file H-1B petitions for OPT employees and how far in advance they begin that process, so you can evaluate whether the role supports your long-term authorization path.
Fuyao Glass America OPT Eligibility: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Fuyao Glass America sponsor OPT visas?
Fuyao Glass America doesn't sponsor OPT itself, OPT work authorization comes from USCIS directly to you as the F-1 student. What Fuyao Glass America does is hire students who already hold a valid OPT EAD. The company has a history of bringing on technical and engineering talent through OPT across its U.S. manufacturing operations.
Which departments at Fuyao Glass America typically hire OPT students?
Engineering, quality assurance, and operations are the departments most aligned with Fuyao Glass America's core manufacturing work. Roles in process engineering, industrial engineering, materials science, and quality control tend to match both the company's production needs and the STEM-designated degree programs that OPT students typically hold.
How do I confirm Fuyao Glass America supports STEM OPT extension?

What is the typical timeline for OPT to H-1B transition at Fuyao Glass America?
H-1B visa cap-subject petitions must be filed in April for an October 1 start date. Raise the H-1B transition question during the offer stage so both parties can plan around the cap filing window.
