Align your degree to Industrious roles
Real estate operations, business development, and project management roles at Industrious require a direct tie between your degree field and the job description. Map your coursework to the role's core functions before applying so your OPT EAD authorization is easy for HR to confirm.
Target teams with recurring OPT hires
Industrious's workplace experience, leasing, and real estate strategy teams have historically brought on early-career talent from real estate, business, and finance programs. Prioritize these functions when searching, since hiring managers there are more familiar with OPT employment authorization timelines.
Request STEM OPT eligibility confirmation early
If your degree qualifies for the 24-month STEM OPT extension, confirm Industrious is enrolled in E-Verify before accepting an offer. STEM OPT requires an active E-Verify employer participation, so raise this during the offer stage, not after your standard OPT period ends.
Benchmark your salary against OFLC Wage Search
Before negotiating your offer, look up prevailing wages for your role and metro using OFLC Wage Search. Real estate and operations salaries vary significantly by market. Knowing the DOL wage level for your position strengthens your negotiation and sets accurate expectations for a future H-1B prevailing wage requirement.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified sponsorship history
Search Industrious on Migrate Mate to review its EB-2 and EB-3 filing history by role and location. This shows which positions have progressed to permanent sponsorship, giving you a clearer picture of long-term immigration support before you commit to the OPT-to-H-1B pathway there.
Prepare your OPT end-date timeline for recruiters
Industrious recruiters need to know how much OPT time you have remaining and whether a STEM extension applies. Bring a one-page summary showing your EAD expiration date, STEM eligibility status, and DSO contact. This removes uncertainty from the hiring decision and signals you've managed the process yourself.
Industrious OPT Eligibility: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Industrious sponsor OPT visas?
Industrious doesn't sponsor OPT itself. OPT is work authorization USCIS grants directly to F-1 students, not something an employer files. Industrious hires students who already hold a valid OPT EAD, which means your authorization is in place before you start. The company's role is confirming employment eligibility through E-Verify, particularly for STEM OPT extensions.
Which departments at Industrious typically hire OPT students?
Industrious most commonly brings OPT students into real estate operations, workplace experience, leasing support, and corporate strategy functions. These teams align well with degrees in real estate, business administration, finance, and urban planning. Roles in project coordination and market analytics have also attracted early-career OPT hires given Industrious's portfolio-heavy structure.
How do I approach the OPT-to-H-1B transition at Industrious?
Perform strongly during your OPT period and raise H-1B sponsorship interest with your manager before your authorization window closes. Industrious has filed EB-2 and EB-3 petitions for eligible employees, which signals a pathway for long-term immigration support. You can review Industrious's filing history on Migrate Mate to understand which roles have historically led to permanent sponsorship.
What timeline should I plan for if I want Industrious to sponsor my H-1B?
H-1B registration opens each March for an October 1 start date. You need to be employed at Industrious and have your employer registered before the filing window. If you're on standard OPT, plan to have at least one full year of employment before the registration cycle so HR has enough lead time. STEM OPT buys additional runway if your degree qualifies.
How do I strengthen my application for an OPT role at Industrious?
Tailor your application to the specific market or asset type Industrious operates in your target city. Highlight any real estate coursework, internship exposure, or project management credentials. Confirm your OPT EAD is valid before submitting and be upfront about your authorization timeline in your cover letter so recruiters aren't guessing about your start availability.
How does Industrious hire OPT students?
OPT is work authorization granted directly to F-1 students after graduation — no employer petition is required. Industrious can hire OPT students as soon as their EAD card is approved. STEM degree holders can extend OPT by 24 months when their employer is enrolled in E-Verify. Most companies that hire OPT students also support the transition to H-1B when the student's OPT period is ending. Check Industrious's individual postings on Migrate Mate to confirm OPT acceptance per role.
