Align your degree to manufacturing engineering roles
Nidec Motor's core hiring sits in mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering. Map your coursework and any internship projects to motor design, power electronics, or production systems before applying. Generic resumes get filtered out fast in manufacturing recruitment pipelines.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before accepting any offer
Your 24-month STEM OPT extension requires your employer to be enrolled in E-Verify. Ask Nidec Motor's HR team directly before signing an offer letter. E-Verify enrollment is employer-managed, and USCIS requires it before your DSO can authorize the extension.
Target Nidec Motor roles with O*NET STEM designation
Not every engineering title at a manufacturing company qualifies for STEM OPT. Cross-reference your job offer's SOC code against the STEM-designated degree list using O*NET to confirm your role qualifies before your OPT end date approaches.
Search Migrate Mate to surface active Nidec Motor openings
Use Migrate Mate to filter Nidec Motor Corporation jobs by OPT eligibility and engineering discipline. The platform pulls roles from employers with documented visa hiring history, so you're not cold-applying to listings where sponsorship support is unclear.
Start your H-1B conversation during onboarding, not year two
Nidec Motor has sponsored H-1B visas across multiple technical functions. Raise the H-1B path with your manager and HR contact within your first few months on OPT. The USCIS registration window opens each March, and employer prep takes longer than most new hires expect.
Research prevailing wage for your role before salary negotiation
When Nidec Motor eventually files your H-1B Labor Condition Application, your salary must meet DOL prevailing wage for your location and job classification. Run your offer against the OFLC Wage Search before accepting to avoid a gap that could delay your later petition.
Nidec Motor Corporation OPT Eligibility: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Nidec Motor Corporation sponsor OPT visas?
Nidec Motor Corporation hires F-1 students who already hold an OPT EAD issued by USCIS. OPT authorization comes from USCIS, not from Nidec Motor directly. For STEM OPT extensions, Nidec Motor must be enrolled in E-Verify, which allows eligible graduates to extend their work authorization by 24 months beyond the initial OPT period.
Which departments at Nidec Motor Corporation typically hire OPT students?
OPT students at Nidec Motor Corporation most commonly find roles in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, and manufacturing operations. Software and controls engineering positions have also supported OPT hires given Nidec Motor's focus on motor and drive system technology. Roles with a defined degree requirement in a STEM field offer the strongest path to STEM OPT extension eligibility.
How do I confirm Nidec Motor Corporation is enrolled in E-Verify?
Ask Nidec Motor's HR or talent acquisition team directly before accepting an offer if you plan to use the STEM OPT extension. E-Verify enrollment is employer-managed and searchable through the E-Verify public database maintained by the Department of Homeland Security. Your DSO at your university will also confirm enrollment status before authorizing your STEM OPT extension.
How do I find open OPT-eligible roles at Nidec Motor Corporation?
Migrate Mate lists Nidec Motor Corporation roles filtered by visa eligibility, so you can search specifically for positions that fit your OPT timeline and STEM degree. Applying through channels that surface employer visa history saves time compared to screening individual job listings manually across general job boards.
Does Nidec Motor Corporation support the transition from OPT to H-1B?
Nidec Motor Corporation has a documented history of sponsoring H-1B visas for employees across technical functions. OPT hires who demonstrate strong performance have a clear path to H-1B sponsorship. The USCIS H-1B cap-subject registration window opens each March, so employees should discuss the transition with HR at least six months before their OPT expires.
How does Nidec Motor Corporation hire OPT students?
OPT is work authorization granted directly to F-1 students after graduation — no employer petition is required. Nidec Motor Corporation can hire OPT students as soon as their EAD card is approved. STEM degree holders can extend OPT by 24 months when their employer is enrolled in E-Verify. Most companies that hire OPT students also support the transition to H-1B when the student's OPT period is ending. Check Nidec Motor Corporation's individual postings on Migrate Mate to confirm OPT acceptance per role.
