Target property-level operations roles first
Omni Hotels fills OPT positions most consistently in front office, food and beverage, and revenue management at individual properties. Applying directly to a specific hotel rather than a corporate requisition increases your chances of reaching a hiring manager who works with OPT students regularly.
Verify E-Verify enrollment before accepting offers
STEM OPT's 24-month extension requires your employer to be enrolled in E-Verify. Confirm Omni's enrollment status for the specific property or corporate entity before signing an offer, since franchised and managed properties sometimes operate under different legal entities with separate enrollment statuses.
Use Migrate Mate to find Omni's verified H-1B filing history
Migrate Mate surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application data by employer and role, so you can see which Omni entities have sponsored H-1B visas for hospitality and corporate positions. This tells you which departments have run the full sponsorship cycle before your OPT ends.
Align your degree field to the role description
Omni's hiring managers assess whether your hospitality, business, or related degree connects directly to the posted role. Pull the O*NET occupation profile for the position, match your coursework to the listed knowledge areas, and make that alignment explicit in your cover letter and interviews.
Initiate H-1B timing conversations at the six-month mark
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed in April for an October start. If your OPT ends before October, your employer needs at least six months of lead time to prepare the Labor Condition Application with DOL. Raise the transition timeline with your manager before you reach that window.
Benchmark your salary offer against prevailing wage data
Before negotiating your offer, run the job title and location through the OFLC Wage Search to find the DOL prevailing wage for that role. Employers must meet prevailing wage for any future H-1B filing, so starting at or above that level now reduces friction in the transition process later.
Omni Hotels OPT Eligibility: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Omni Hotels sponsor OPT visas?
Omni Hotels hires F-1 students who already hold OPT authorization granted by USCIS. The company does not petition for OPT itself, since OPT is your work authorization, not an employer-sponsored visa. What Omni does offer is a hiring environment that accommodates OPT employees and, for qualifying roles, a pathway to H-1B sponsorship once your OPT period nears its end.
Which departments at Omni Hotels typically hire OPT students?
OPT students most commonly find roles in front office operations, food and beverage management, revenue and reservations, human resources, and marketing at individual Omni properties. Corporate functions in finance, digital, and brand management also hire OPT students, though those positions are more competitive and tend to require prior hospitality internship experience.
How do I confirm Omni Hotels is enrolled in E-Verify for my STEM OPT extension?
Ask your recruiter or HR contact directly for the E-Verify Company ID of the specific legal entity that will employ you. Omni operates through multiple property and management entities, so enrollment status can vary by location. USCIS requires your employer's E-Verify enrollment before you can submit a STEM OPT extension request through your DSO.
How do I find out if Omni Hotels has sponsored H-1B visas in my field?
Migrate Mate aggregates DOL Labor Condition Application filing data by employer, so you can search Omni's H-1B filing history by job title or department. Seeing active filings in your target function confirms that Omni has run the sponsorship process before and is structured to do it again for the right candidate.
What timeline should I expect for an OPT-to-H-1B transition at Omni Hotels?
H-1B cap-subject petitions open in April for an October 1 start date. If you are on standard 12-month OPT, your employer needs to begin preparing your Labor Condition Application with DOL roughly six months before your OPT end date. Start conversations with your manager well before that window, since delays in internal approval can compress the timeline significantly.
How does Omni Hotels hire OPT students?
OPT is work authorization granted directly to F-1 students after graduation — no employer petition is required. Omni Hotels can hire OPT students as soon as their EAD card is approved. STEM degree holders can extend OPT by 24 months when their employer is enrolled in E-Verify. Most companies that hire OPT students also support the transition to H-1B when the student's OPT period is ending. Check Omni Hotels's individual postings on Migrate Mate to confirm OPT acceptance per role.
