Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Provider Operations Associate to join our Virtual Care team.
Oscar is the first health insurance company built around a full stack technology platform and a relentless focus on serving our members. We started Oscar in 2012 to create the kind of health insurance company we would want for ourselves—one that behaves like a doctor in the family.
About the role:
The Associate, Provider Operations acts as the operational engine for Oscar Medical Group, bridging the gap between clinical staffing needs and corporate administrative functions. This is a business management role focused on the day-to-day people operations of our provider workforce. You will be responsible for the integrity of our people-data ecosystem—managing the intersection of payroll, HR systems, and clinical operations to ensure the business scales efficiently. Additionally, you will be analyzing data to improve workflows, ensure multi-state compliance, and serve as a strategic operational partner to OMG leadership.
You will report into the Director, Clinical Operations.
Work Location: This position is based in our New York City office, requiring a hybrid work schedule with 3 days of in-office work per week. Thursdays are a required in-office day for team meetings and events, while your other two office days are flexible to suit your schedule. #LI-Hybrid
Pay Transparency: The base pay for this role is: $87,768- $131,652 annually. You are also eligible for employee benefits, 18 PTO days annually in addition to sick time, 9 paid holidays and 4 personal holidays days per year. You may also participate in Oscar's and 401K plan with 2% corporate matching and immediate vesting!
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

- Identify and implement process improvements across day-to-day people operations and administrative workstreams to reduce manual work and increase data accuracy for a multi-state clinical workforce.
- Analyze payroll and operational data to identify trends, reconcile discrepancies, and provide insights that influence budget and headcount planning.
- Manage the end-to-end integration of providers into HR and Payroll systems, ensuring that operational data flows seamlessly between platforms.
- Partner with HR Business Partners and Clinical Leads to triage and resolve complex operational inquiries, serving as a subject matter expert on OMG-specific pay structures.
- Ensure all provider operations maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations in a complex, multi-state healthcare environment.
- Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Other duties as assigned

Align your degree to insurance roles
Oscar Management Corporation fills technical roles in actuarial science, health data analytics, and software engineering. Pull up your degree field on O*NET and confirm it maps to insurance or technology occupation codes before applying, mismatched credentials are the fastest way to lose an OPT opportunity here.
Target STEM-designated roles deliberately
STEM OPT extensions require your employer to be enrolled in E-Verify. Confirm Oscar Management Corporation's E-Verify status before accepting an offer, because a 24-month extension is only available if the employer is enrolled at the time your DSO submits the updated I-20 to SEVIS.
Benchmark your salary using OFLC Wage Search
Insurance technology roles at companies like Oscar carry prevailing wage obligations at the H-1B stage. Run your target job title and location through OFLC Wage Search now so your OPT offer aligns with what the company will need to certify later, gaps create friction at transition time.
Prepare your OPT EAD before your start date
Oscar Management Corporation hires OPT students, but you own the authorization. File your OPT application with USCIS at least 90 days before your program end date. A delayed EAD means a delayed start date, and most employers won't hold an offer open past your authorized start window.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified OPT openings
Search Oscar Management Corporation on Migrate Mate to see which of their current job listings are flagged as OPT-compatible and which departments have historically hired international students. That filtering saves you from applying to roles where visa status is a dealbreaker before the first interview.
Address the H-1B transition early in interviews
Insurance companies evaluate long-term hiring costs at the offer stage. Ask directly whether Oscar Management Corporation has an established H-1B sponsorship process and what the typical timeline looks like after OPT authorization ends, this signals planning maturity and surfaces any internal policy restrictions before you commit.
Oscar Management Corporation OPT Eligibility: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Oscar Management Corporation sponsor OPT visas?
Oscar Management Corporation doesn't sponsor OPT itself, OPT authorization comes from USCIS directly to you as an F-1 student. What Oscar Management Corporation does is hire candidates who already hold a valid OPT EAD. The company has a history of bringing on international students in technical and analytical roles within the insurance and health technology space.
Which departments at Oscar Management Corporation typically hire OPT students?
OPT hires at Oscar Management Corporation tend to cluster in software engineering, data science, actuarial, and product analytics teams. These roles align well with STEM-designated degree programs, which is relevant if you're planning to apply for a 24-month STEM OPT extension and need an E-Verify enrolled employer to support that filing with USCIS.
How do I approach the OPT-to-H-1B transition at Oscar Management Corporation?
Raise the H-1B sponsorship question before you accept your OPT offer. Oscar Management Corporation has sponsored H-1B visas historically, so the pathway exists, but internal processes vary by team and headcount. Confirm whether your specific department has a sponsor track and ask HR about the timeline from OPT end date to H-1B petition filing.
How do I find OPT-compatible job listings at Oscar Management Corporation?
Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa compatibility, so you can see Oscar Management Corporation roles that are flagged for OPT candidates without manually screening hundreds of postings. Cross-check any shortlisted roles against your degree field using O*NET to confirm the occupation code matches your program before applying.
What timeline should I expect for starting work at Oscar Management Corporation on OPT?
Your OPT EAD is what determines your start date, not anything Oscar Management Corporation controls. File with USCIS at least 90 days before your program end date. USCIS processing typically runs several weeks, and your start date cannot be earlier than both your program end date and the date printed on your EAD card.
How does Oscar Management Corporation hire OPT students?
OPT is work authorization granted directly to F-1 students after graduation — no employer petition is required. Oscar Management Corporation can hire OPT students as soon as their EAD card is approved. STEM degree holders can extend OPT by 24 months when their employer is enrolled in E-Verify. Most companies that hire OPT students also support the transition to H-1B when the student's OPT period is ending. Check Oscar Management Corporation's individual postings on Migrate Mate to confirm OPT acceptance per role.
