Align your resume to SRE-adjacent leadership
Google's DevOps Manager roles frequently overlap with Site Reliability Engineering. Frame your experience around reliability, incident management, and infrastructure at scale. Recruiters pattern-match to these terms when screening for this function.
Prepare your degree equivalency documentation early
H-1B specialty occupation requirements mean your credentials must clearly map to the role. If your degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation done before interviews begin so it's ready when your employer needs it for the Labor Condition Application.
Target Google's infrastructure and platform teams directly
DevOps Manager openings at Google span GCP, internal tooling, and production engineering. Searching by team or business unit, not just job title, surfaces roles that fit your background more precisely and where sponsorship demand is highest.
Understand how Google's immigration team handles LCA timing
Google files the Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting your H-1B petition to USCIS. Confirm with your recruiter which office your role is tied to, since the LCA must reflect the actual worksite location and prevailing wage for that area.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified DevOps Manager openings at Google
Filtering for roles by visa type and employer is time-consuming without the right tool. Migrate Mate surfaces Google's active DevOps Manager postings alongside their sponsorship history, so you can prioritize applications where your visa type is supported.
Account for H-1B cap timing if you're not already in status
If you're outside the U.S. or on a non-H-1B visa, Google can only file an H-1B petition during the annual cap registration window each March. Missing that window means waiting another year, so time your offer negotiations with that deadline in mind.

Find Devops Manager at Google JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Google sponsor H-1B visas for Devops Managers?
Yes, Google sponsors H-1B visas for DevOps Manager roles. Google has an internal immigration legal team that manages the full H-1B process, from filing the Labor Condition Application with DOL through the USCIS petition. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, Google can also file an H-1B transfer so you can start work as soon as the transfer petition is received.
How do I apply for Devops Manager jobs at Google?
Applications go through Google's careers site, where you can filter by role and location. Migrate Mate also aggregates Google's active DevOps Manager postings and surfaces them alongside visa sponsorship details, which helps you prioritize roles where your visa type is supported. Google's hiring process for this level typically includes a recruiter screen, technical and systems design interviews, and a leadership round.
Which visa types does Google sponsor for Devops Manager roles?
Google sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for DevOps Manager positions. H-1B is the most common path for candidates from countries outside Australia or Singapore. E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and offers a faster, cap-exempt route. H-1B1 is available to citizens of Singapore and Chile and is also cap-exempt, allowing year-round filing.
What qualifications does Google expect for Devops Manager candidates?
Google typically expects a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field, combined with hands-on experience managing infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and distributed systems. Leadership experience is essential at this level. For visa sponsorship purposes, your degree must satisfy USCIS specialty occupation standards, meaning it needs to be directly relevant to the role's technical requirements.
How do I think about visa processing timelines when targeting a Google offer?
If you're pursuing an H-1B and aren't already in status, Google can only register you during the annual March lottery window. Processing then takes several months before an October 1 start date. E-3 and H-1B1 candidates have more flexibility since those are cap-exempt and can be filed any time of year, with consular processing abroad typically completing within a few weeks of the visa interview.
