Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Data Manager Jobs at Google Jobs
Align your credentials to Google's data stack
Google's Data Manager roles consistently require fluency in BigQuery, Looker, and internal data governance tooling. Certifications in Google Cloud or demonstrated experience with large-scale SQL pipelines strengthen your specialty occupation case for H-1B purposes.
Target teams with recurring data infrastructure needs
Google's Ads, Cloud, and Maps divisions post Data Manager roles most consistently. Applying directly to these org-specific listings, rather than generic data postings, puts you in front of hiring managers who already have headcount allocated and active sponsorship workflows.
Understand how Google structures its LCA filings
Google files Labor Condition Applications with DOL before submitting your H-1B petition to USCIS. The LCA locks in your prevailing wage tier and worksite location, so confirm your team's primary office location before your offer letter is finalized to avoid amendments later.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active sponsorship listings
Not every Data Manager listing at Google explicitly advertises visa sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsoring roles by company and function, so you're only applying to positions where Google has confirmed it will support your visa category.
Clarify your visa type eligibility before accepting an offer
Google sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for Data Managers. Australian citizens should confirm E-3 eligibility with the recruiter early, since it bypasses the H-1B lottery and has a faster processing timeline, avoiding an unnecessary lottery registration.
Time your application around the H-1B registration window
USCIS opens H-1B lottery registration in March each year for an October 1 start date. If you're targeting a full-time Data Manager role at Google requiring cap-subject sponsorship, your offer and petition prep need to be in place well before that window closes.

Find Data Manager at Google JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Google sponsor H-1B visas for Data Managers?
Yes, Google sponsors H-1B visas for Data Manager roles. The process involves Google filing a Labor Condition Application with DOL and then submitting an H-1B petition to USCIS on your behalf. Cap-subject candidates need to clear the annual lottery first, so timing your offer around the March registration window matters.
Which visa types does Google sponsor for Data Manager roles?
Google sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for Data Manager positions. H-1B is the most common path for most nationalities. H-1B1 is available to Chilean and Singaporean nationals, while E-3 is exclusive to Australian citizens. Each has distinct filing requirements, processing timelines, and renewal structures, so clarify which applies to you before signing an offer.
What qualifications does Google expect for Data Manager roles?
Google typically expects a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, statistics, or a closely related field. Hands-on experience with BigQuery, data pipeline architecture, and cross-functional data governance is consistently referenced in job listings. For visa purposes, your degree field needs to align directly with the data management function of the role.
How do I apply for Data Manager jobs at Google?
Applications go through Google's careers portal, but not every listing explicitly states that visa sponsorship is available. To avoid wasted applications, use Migrate Mate to browse Data Manager roles at Google that have a confirmed sponsorship track record. Once you identify a target role, tailor your resume to Google's data infrastructure stack and apply directly through their portal.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship at Google?
H-1B cap-subject petitions have an October 1 start date, with lottery registration in March. That means your offer, LCA filing with DOL, and petition prep all need to happen before March of the year you want to start. If you're currently on OPT or STEM OPT, confirm your authorization end date against this timeline so there's no gap in work eligibility.
