About LangChain
At LangChain, our mission is to make intelligent agents ubiquitous. We build the foundation for agent engineering in the real world, helping developers move from prototypes to production-ready AI agents that teams can rely on. We began as widely adopted open-source tools and have grown to also offer a platform for building, evaluating, deploying, and operating agents at scale. Today, LangChain, LangGraph, LangSmith, and Agent Builder are used by teams shipping real AI products across startups and large enterprises. Millions of developers trust LangChain to power AI teams at companies like Replit, Clay, Coinbase, Workday, Lyft, Cloudflare, Harvey, Rippling, Vanta, and 35% of the Fortune 500. With $125M raised at Series B from IVP, Sequoia, Benchmark, CapitalG, and Sapphire Ventures, we’re at a stage where we’re continuing to develop new products, growth is accelerating, and all team members have meaningful impact on what we build and how we work together. LangChain is a place where your contributions can shape how this technology shows up in the real world.
About The Role
We’re hiring a Technical Support Engineer to lead our customer support experience for highly technical users, from AI engineers to infrastructure architects. You’ll be on the front lines helping teams debug production LLM applications and agents, improve AI observability and evaluations, and unblock critical issues. You’ll also help define what world-class technical support looks like for modern AI platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the go-to escalation point for technical support inquiries—diagnosing issues across customer setup, LangChain products, and deployment issues.
- Work directly with engineering, operations, documentation, and product teams to resolve bugs, suggest patches, and advocate for customer needs.
- Partner with Deployed Engineering to support critical enterprise customers.
- Build and refine internal tooling, diagnostics, and runbooks for complex issue triage.
- Lead post-mortems for critical incidents and feed learnings back into product and documentation.
- Help refine KPIs for support health (MTTR, CSAT, bug recurrence) and drive continuous improvement.
- Improve documentation and knowledge articles to improve 1-to-many resources and provide proactive support.
- Mentor and coach other support engineers.
How To Be Successful In This Role
- 4+ years in technical support, solutions engineering, or SRE roles in deeply technical B2B environments (e.g., observability, infrastructure, data platforms).
- Expert troubleshooting skills across APIs, SDKs, distributed systems, and cloud-native stacks.
- Programming experience with Python. Bonus if you have TypeScript experience.
- Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker.
- Comfort working with logs, traces, metrics in Datadog, and 3rd-party integrations (e.g., OpenTelemetry, LLM providers).
- Experience supporting enterprise customers and collaborating with engineering on complex escalations.
- A bias for clarity and continuous improvement: you write succinct, helpful, and accurate responses and build a foundation for case deflection.
- High ownership — want to do what’s best for the customer and the company and are relentlessly results oriented.
Location
: Remote, must be in Central or Eastern time zone
Compensation & Benefits
- We offer competitive compensation that includes base salary, variable compensation for relevant roles, meaningful equity, benefits, and perks. Benefits include things like medical, dental, and vision coverage, flexible vacation, a 401(k) plan, and life insurance.
- Actual compensation and offerings will vary based on role, level, and location. Team members in the EU, UK, and APAC receive locally competitive benefits aligned with regional norms and regulations.
- Annual salary range: $130,000 - $195,000 USD

Align your portfolio to AI hardware contexts
LangChain's engineering work sits at the software-hardware boundary. Highlight projects involving embedded systems, thermal management for compute hardware, or precision manufacturing in AI or data center environments to match what their teams are actually building.
Confirm E-3 eligibility before applying
If you're an Australian citizen, the E-3 visa is a strong path at LangChain. Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your consulate appointment, so confirm your job offer is in place and the LCA process is initiated early.
Target roles specifying hardware or systems engineering
LangChain posts Mechanical Engineer openings across a range of specializations. Filter for roles that explicitly mention prototyping, product development, or systems integration, since those are the positions most likely to align with active sponsorship workflows at the company.
Use Migrate Mate to surface sponsorship-confirmed openings
Identifying which open roles at LangChain actively include visa sponsorship as part of the offer saves significant time. Search Migrate Mate to filter Mechanical Engineer positions at LangChain by sponsored visa type before you apply.
Request H-1B timeline specifics during offer negotiations
H-1B cap-subject petitions are only filed once per year, with an October 1 start date. When you receive an offer, ask the recruiter directly whether they plan to file in the next registration window and whether premium processing is included.
Prepare documentation that proves specialty occupation status
USCIS requires Mechanical Engineer petitions to demonstrate the role requires a specific bachelor's degree in a related field. Gather your degree transcripts, any credential evaluations if your degree is from outside the U.S., and a detailed job description from LangChain before filing begins.

Find Mechanical Engineer at LangChain JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does LangChain sponsor H-1B visas for Mechanical Engineers?
Yes, LangChain sponsors H-1B visas for Mechanical Engineer roles. The H-1B is the most common employer-sponsored work visa for specialty occupations, and Mechanical Engineering qualifies when the role requires a specific bachelor's degree or higher. LangChain has a documented sponsorship history for engineering functions, though you should confirm sponsorship intent for your specific role during the offer stage.
How do I apply for Mechanical Engineer jobs at LangChain?
Start by browsing open Mechanical Engineer positions on LangChain's careers page or through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles with confirmed visa sponsorship. Tailor your application to highlight hardware systems, AI-adjacent engineering, or product development experience. After submitting, be direct with the recruiter about your visa status so sponsorship timelines can be planned from the outset.
Which visa types does LangChain sponsor for Mechanical Engineers?
LangChain sponsors both H-1B and E-3 visas for Mechanical Engineer roles. The H-1B is available to candidates of any nationality and is filed through USCIS, subject to an annual cap and lottery. The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens, offers a faster consulate-based process, and has a separate annual allocation that has historically gone undersubscribed.
What qualifications and experience does LangChain expect for Mechanical Engineer roles?
LangChain's Mechanical Engineer roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. Given the company's focus on AI infrastructure, experience with thermal systems, precision hardware, embedded product development, or systems integration in a software or technology environment is highly relevant. Advanced degrees or hands-on prototyping experience can strengthen your application for senior-level openings.
How do I plan the visa sponsorship timeline for a Mechanical Engineer role at LangChain?
The timeline depends on your visa type. H-1B petitions are filed once per year with USCIS, with employment starting October 1 at the earliest, so an offer made in early spring may mean waiting several months before you can start. The E-3 moves faster since it's processed at a U.S. consulate and doesn't follow a fixed annual cycle, with most applicants completing the process within four to eight weeks of receiving a certified LCA from the DOL.
