Align your credentials to Liberty's academic standards
Liberty hires for faith-integrated education environments. Your CV should reflect not just your subject expertise and teaching experience, but any coursework, service, or professional development that aligns with their institutional mission and accreditation expectations.
Target roles requiring specialized subject matter expertise
Liberty's education openings often require field-specific qualifications in areas like curriculum design, instructional technology, or counselor education. Positions requiring a terminal degree or licensure are more defensible for H-1B specialty occupation classification than generalist roles.
Confirm Liberty's sponsorship intent before applying
Not every open education role comes with automatic sponsorship. Ask directly during the screening call whether the position supports H-1B or TN filings, and clarify whether their HR team handles petitions internally or uses outside immigration counsel.
Prepare OPT timelines around Liberty's hiring cycle
Liberty posts faculty and professional education roles on a rolling basis, but many open ahead of the fall semester. If you're on F-1 OPT, factor in USCIS processing time for a cap-subject H-1B petition to avoid a gap between OPT expiration and October 1 status change.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Liberty's education openings by visa type
Browsing Liberty's full job board makes it hard to identify which roles have sponsorship history. Migrate Mate lets you filter Liberty University education jobs by visa type so you can focus your applications on positions most likely to lead to a filing.
Understand how TN status applies to education roles
Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status in certain education-adjacent occupations recognized under USMCA. Confirm the specific occupational category your role falls under with the employer before assuming TN is available, as not all education titles qualify.

Find Education at Liberty University JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Liberty University sponsor H-1B visas for Educations?
Yes, Liberty University has sponsored H-1B visas for education professionals. Sponsorship is role-dependent, so positions requiring a specific degree in a specialized field, such as instructional design, counselor education, or a subject-specific faculty role, are stronger candidates for H-1B classification than generalist administrative education titles.
How do I apply for Education jobs at Liberty University?
Applications go through Liberty University's careers portal. Review the job description carefully for degree and licensure requirements before applying. In your cover letter and interview, address both your subject expertise and your fit with Liberty's mission-driven academic environment. You can also browse and filter Liberty's education openings by visa type on Migrate Mate.
Which visa types are commonly used for Education roles at Liberty University?
H-1B is the most common work visa pathway for education professionals at Liberty. F-1 OPT and CPT are available to students already enrolled at the university or transitioning from another institution. Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupational categories may also be eligible for TN status under USMCA.
What qualifications are expected for Education positions at Liberty University?
Most professional education roles at Liberty require at minimum a master's degree in a relevant field, with faculty positions typically requiring a terminal degree such as a PhD or EdD. Teaching experience, familiarity with online learning platforms, and alignment with Liberty's Christian mission are all evaluated during the hiring process.
How do I plan my timeline for H-1B sponsorship through Liberty University?
Cap-subject H-1B petitions can only be filed in April for an October 1 start date, so you need an offer well before the April filing window. If you're on F-1 OPT, your authorized period must cover the gap until October 1. USCIS standard processing takes several months, and premium processing can reduce that to 15 business days.
