Align your credentials to USCIS specialty occupation standards
Technology Lead roles at Micron typically require a degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a directly related field. Gather transcripts and credential evaluations now so your degree maps cleanly to the specialty occupation definition before you apply.
Target Micron's semiconductor-specific engineering teams
Micron hires Technology Leads across DRAM, NAND, and advanced packaging divisions. Applying to teams aligned with your engineering domain, whether process integration or design, signals genuine fit and increases your chances of clearing internal technical screens.
Search open Technology Lead roles using Migrate Mate
Filter by Micron Technology and Technology Lead on Migrate Mate to surface active roles with confirmed visa sponsorship. This saves you from applying to postings where sponsorship eligibility is ambiguous or not offered for senior technical positions.
Ask about H-1B timing relative to the annual cap
If you're not already in H-1B status, the April 1 filing window and October 1 start date affects when you can begin work. Confirm with your Micron recruiter whether they'll file with or without premium processing, since the 15-business-day upgrade can close gaps in your employment timeline.
Prepare for PERM if your goal is permanent residence
Micron sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for Technology Leads, which requires DOL's PERM labor certification process. This typically begins after you're established in the role, so understanding the multi-year timeline helps you plan any concurrent H-1B extensions accordingly.
Clarify H-1B1 eligibility if you hold Singaporean or Chilean citizenship
Micron sponsors the H-1B1 in addition to the standard H-1B. The H-1B1 is cap-exempt and filed directly without the lottery, which can significantly shorten your path to a start date compared to the standard H-1B registration process.

Find Technology Lead at Micron Technology JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Micron Technology sponsor H-1B visas for Technology Leads?
Yes, Micron Technology sponsors H-1B visas for Technology Lead positions. Micron is an established H-1B filer with a consistent pattern of sponsoring senior technical roles across its semiconductor engineering divisions. Technology Lead positions qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS guidelines, given their degree requirements in fields like electrical or computer engineering.
Which visa types does Micron Technology use for Technology Lead roles?
Micron sponsors Technology Leads on H-1B, H-1B1, and immigrant visa pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. The H-1B1 is available exclusively to citizens of Singapore and Chile and bypasses the annual lottery. Green Card sponsorship through PERM typically follows after the employee is established in the role, with EB-2 being common for roles requiring advanced degrees.
How do I apply for Technology Lead jobs at Micron Technology?
Apply through Micron's careers portal, targeting teams aligned with your engineering background, such as DRAM design, NAND process integration, or advanced packaging. Use Migrate Mate to identify active Technology Lead openings at Micron that include confirmed visa sponsorship, so you can prioritize roles where your immigration status won't be an obstacle during the offer stage.
What qualifications does Micron Technology expect for Technology Lead roles?
Micron's Technology Lead positions typically require a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, materials science, or a closely related field. Beyond the degree, these roles involve leading cross-functional engineering teams on semiconductor development projects, so demonstrated experience managing technical programs in a hardware or memory technology environment is expected.
How do I understand the visa sponsorship timeline for a Technology Lead offer at Micron?
If you need a new H-1B, Micron must register you in the USCIS lottery in March, with employment starting no earlier than October 1 of that year. Premium processing, available for an additional USCIS fee, reduces adjudication to 15 business days and is worth requesting if your current work authorization has a gap. Confirm these details with Micron's immigration team once you receive an offer.
