Align your resume to fab operations
Micron's Industrial Engineer roles center on wafer fabrication yield, cycle time reduction, and cleanroom process flows. Frame your experience around semiconductor manufacturing metrics, not generic industrial settings, before you apply.
Target roles tied to capital expansion
Micron is actively expanding U.S. fabrication capacity. Positions tied to new fab construction and ramp-up phases are more likely to move quickly through headcount approvals, which accelerates the employer-side LCA filing with DOL.
Get your credentials evaluated before interviewing
If your engineering degree is from outside the United States, have it evaluated by a NACES-accredited service before your first interview. Micron's recruiting team will need this documentation to confirm specialty occupation standing for your H-1B petition.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open roles by location
Micron's Industrial Engineer openings are spread across multiple U.S. fab sites. Use Migrate Mate to filter open positions by location and sponsorship type so you target sites where your specific process background is the best match.
Prepare for PERM documentation if pursuing permanent residency
Micron sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for engineering roles. If long-term residency is your goal, ask HR during the offer process whether your role is PERM-eligible and how the company typically sequences H-1B sponsorship alongside a permanent labor certification filing.

Find Industrial Engineer at Micron Technology JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Micron Technology sponsor H-1B visas for Industrial Engineers?
Yes, Micron Technology sponsors H-1B visas for Industrial Engineers. The company files petitions for this role as part of its U.S. manufacturing workforce strategy. Because H-1B sponsorship is subject to USCIS's annual lottery, timing your application cycle and confirming your employer's intent to file early in the registration window is important.
How do I apply for Industrial Engineer jobs at Micron Technology?
Applications go through Micron's careers portal. You can also browse current Industrial Engineer openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which surfaces active roles at Micron before you apply directly. Tailor your application to the specific fab site and process area listed in the job description, since Micron's engineering teams are organized by technology node and manufacturing location.
Which visa types does Micron Technology use for Industrial Engineers?
Micron sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and employment-based Green Cards (EB-2 and EB-3) for Industrial Engineers. H-1B1 is available only to Australian and Chilean nationals and does not require entry into the annual USCIS lottery. EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship typically begins after you've established yourself in the role and requires a PERM labor certification filed with DOL.
What qualifications does Micron Technology expect for Industrial Engineer roles?
Micron's Industrial Engineer positions typically require a bachelor's degree in industrial, manufacturing, or systems engineering. Roles supporting active fab operations often expect hands-on experience with statistical process control, lean manufacturing, or equipment utilization analysis in a semiconductor or electronics manufacturing environment. Graduate degrees or experience with wafer-level yield analysis can strengthen your candidacy for senior-level positions.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for an Industrial Engineer at Micron?
Once you have a signed offer, Micron's legal team files the Labor Condition Application with DOL, which is typically certified within seven business days. The H-1B petition is then submitted to USCIS. Standard processing runs three to five months, while premium processing through USCIS expedites adjudication to 15 business days. If you're on OPT, confirm your STEM extension timeline against these windows.
