Frame your PM credentials around hardware product cycles
Micron prioritizes Program Managers with experience in cross-functional hardware or semiconductor programs. Structure your resume around milestones like tape-out schedules, NPI processes, or yield improvement programs rather than generic project delivery frameworks.
Target Micron's DRAM and NAND business units
Micron organizes Program Manager hiring around specific product lines including DRAM, NAND, and storage solutions. Tailoring your application to a named business unit signals product knowledge and improves your chances of clearing initial recruiter screening.
Search open Program Manager roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters Micron's Program Manager openings by visa sponsorship type, so you can identify which roles actively support H-1B candidates before applying and focus your effort where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Clarify sponsorship scope before accepting an offer
Micron sponsors both H-1B transfers and new cap-subject petitions, but confirm whether your specific offer includes Green Card sponsorship initiation and an estimated PERM timeline. This affects your long-term planning significantly, especially if you are approaching your sixth H-1B year.
Align your interview narrative with Micron's fab operations
Micron's Program Manager interviews frequently probe experience coordinating between design engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain across sites. Prepare examples from programs that required managing stakeholders across time zones or physical production facilities.
Understand how PERM timing interacts with your visa stage
If Micron initiates EB-2 or EB-3 PERM sponsorship for your role, DOL processing can run 18 to 24 months before an I-140 petition is even filed. Factor this into your H-1B extension strategy so your authorized stay covers the full labor certification window.

Find Program Manager at Micron Technology JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Micron Technology sponsor H-1B visas for Program Managers?
Yes, Micron Technology sponsors H-1B visas for Program Manager roles. The company has a consistent track record of filing H-1B petitions for this function, covering both new cap-subject cases and transfers from other sponsors. Sponsorship is typically handled through Micron's in-house immigration team, and eligibility is assessed as part of the offer process for international candidates.
How do I apply for Program Manager jobs at Micron Technology?
Applications go through Micron's careers portal at micron.com/careers, where you can filter by job family and location. Roles in Boise, San Jose, and Folsom are the most active for Program Managers. Migrate Mate also lists Micron's open Program Manager positions filtered by sponsorship type, which helps you prioritize roles that have supported H-1B candidates in this specific function.
Which visa types does Micron Technology use for Program Manager sponsorship?
Micron sponsors Program Managers under H-1B and H-1B1 for nonimmigrant work authorization. For permanent residence, the company uses EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card pathways, typically initiated through the PERM labor certification process filed with the DOL. The visa type offered depends on your qualifications, degree level, and the specific role classification.
What qualifications does Micron look for in Program Manager candidates?
Micron typically expects a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline for Program Manager roles in its semiconductor divisions. Hands-on experience with hardware NPI cycles, cross-functional program execution in a manufacturing or design environment, and familiarity with DRAM or NAND product development strengthens your candidacy significantly compared to candidates with only software or IT program backgrounds.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take if Micron extends an offer?
If your offer aligns with the annual H-1B cap, Micron would file during the April registration window for an October 1 start date under USCIS rules, meaning a gap of several months between offer and start. Cap-exempt transfers from another H-1B sponsor can begin in as little as a few weeks after USCIS receipt. Premium processing, which USCIS adjudicates within 15 business days, is an option some employers elect to accelerate approval.
