Document your fab-relevant process experience clearly
Micron prioritizes candidates with hands-on experience in CVD, CMP, etch, or lithography. Frame your resume around specific process nodes, equipment platforms, and yield improvement outcomes rather than general engineering responsibilities.
Target roles aligned with active fab locations
Micron's Process Engineer hiring concentrates around its Boise, Manassas, and Singapore-to-U.S. transfer pipelines. Filtering openings by site helps you identify which facilities are actively ramping and most likely to file new sponsorship petitions.
Understand how your degree field maps to the role
USCIS requires that your degree field directly relates to the Process Engineer position. A degree in materials science, chemical engineering, or electrical engineering typically satisfies the specialty occupation requirement; a general science degree without relevant coursework may not.
Clarify sponsorship scope before accepting an offer
Confirm whether Micron's offer includes both H-1B filing and a future PERM-based Green Card pathway. Some offers cover initial status only, and understanding the employer's commitment to immigrant visa sponsorship before you sign avoids surprises during your first renewal cycle.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Process Engineer roles at Micron
Micron posts Process Engineer openings across multiple job boards and its own careers page, making it easy to miss sponsorship-confirmed listings. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsoring employers so you can filter directly to Micron's open roles and apply efficiently.

Find Process Engineer at Micron Technology JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Micron Technology sponsor H-1B visas for Process Engineers?
Yes, Micron Technology sponsors H-1B visas for Process Engineers and has done so consistently across its U.S. manufacturing sites. The company files both cap-subject petitions for new hires and cap-exempt transfers in qualifying circumstances. If you're on OPT, you'll need an offer confirmed before the March registration window to be included in that year's H-1B lottery.
How do I apply for Process Engineer jobs at Micron Technology?
Apply directly through Micron's careers portal, where Process Engineer roles are posted by site and business unit. Tailor your application to the specific fab technology mentioned in the job description, such as DRAM or NAND process development. You can also browse sponsorship-confirmed Micron openings on Migrate Mate to ensure the role you're applying for is actively hiring visa-sponsored candidates.
Which visa types does Micron Technology use for Process Engineers?
Micron sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for Process Engineers at the nonimmigrant level. For permanent residence, the company uses EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card categories, typically through the PERM labor certification process filed with the DOL. The pathway offered often depends on your educational background and the specific role level.
What qualifications does Micron expect for a sponsored Process Engineer role?
Micron typically looks for a bachelor's or master's degree in chemical engineering, materials science, electrical engineering, or a closely related field. Hands-on experience with semiconductor process modules such as deposition, etch, or planarization is weighted heavily. USCIS requires the degree field to directly relate to the role, so a specialized engineering background strengthens both your candidacy and the specialty occupation determination.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take if I receive an offer from Micron?
If you're subject to the H-1B cap, the timeline runs from the March registration window through an October 1 start date at the earliest, roughly six to seven months. USCIS premium processing can shorten adjudication to around 15 business days after filing. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, Micron can file a transfer petition and you're generally authorized to start once it's received by USCIS.
