Frame your PM credentials around fab operations
Micron's Project Manager roles often sit at the intersection of engineering and manufacturing. Tailor your resume to highlight cross-functional program delivery, yield improvement initiatives, or hardware product launches rather than general project coordination experience.
Confirm your PMP or CAPM before applying
Micron's PM job postings frequently list PMP certification as a preferred or required qualification. Having it in hand before you apply removes a common screening objection and strengthens your profile against candidates who are still pursuing it.
Target Micron's Idaho and Virginia sites strategically
Micron concentrates a large share of its PM hiring around its Boise headquarters and its Manassas fab. Filtering your search by these locations surfaces the highest concentration of open roles and aligns your application with teams that regularly hire sponsored candidates.
Use Migrate Mate to filter PM openings by sponsorship type
Micron sponsors both H-1B and employment-based Green Card pathways for this role. Search Migrate Mate to identify which active PM postings are tied to sponsorship-ready positions so you're not investing time in roles that won't support your visa status.
Account for LCA filing timing in your offer negotiation
Before Micron can file your H-1B petition with USCIS, it must obtain a certified Labor Condition Application from the DOL, which adds time to your start date. Build at least two to four weeks of LCA processing into any start date discussion with your recruiter.
Clarify whether your role qualifies as cap-exempt
If Micron places you at a university research partner or national lab site as part of a collaborative project, that assignment may qualify for cap-exempt H-1B filing, bypassing the annual lottery. Ask your recruiter directly whether the specific PM position is tied to any cap-exempt entity.

Find Project Manager at Micron Technology JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Micron Technology sponsor H-1B visas for Project Managers?
Yes, Micron Technology sponsors H-1B visas for Project Manager roles. Micron is a large employer in the semiconductor industry with an established immigration program, and it regularly files H-1B petitions for PM positions across its U.S. operations. Sponsorship is typically initiated after an offer is extended, so confirming sponsorship support early in the recruiter conversation is advisable.
How do I apply for Project Manager jobs at Micron Technology?
Apply directly through Micron's careers portal on their official website. Search for Project Manager roles filtered by location, as Micron concentrates PM hiring in Boise, Manassas, and select other U.S. sites. You can also browse open PM positions at Micron that include visa sponsorship through Migrate Mate, which curates sponsorship-eligible listings to save you time during your search.
Which visa types does Micron Technology commonly use for Project Manager roles?
Micron sponsors H-1B visas for most Project Manager hires, which is the standard route for specialty occupation roles in the semiconductor industry. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, Micron also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways through PERM labor certification. H-1B1 sponsorship is available for eligible nationals from Singapore and Chile as well.
What qualifications does Micron Technology expect for sponsored Project Manager roles?
Micron typically expects a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field for PM roles, given the hardware and fabrication context of its operations. PMP certification is frequently listed as preferred. Hands-on experience managing cross-functional programs in semiconductor manufacturing, memory product development, or electronics supply chains strengthens a candidacy significantly over general project management backgrounds.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Project Manager at Micron?
The timeline depends on the visa type and filing method. For H-1B cap-subject filings, USCIS registration opens in March each year, with employment starting October 1 at the earliest if selected. Standard processing after cap selection runs three to five months; premium processing through USCIS shortens adjudication to 15 business days. DOL's LCA certification, which Micron must complete first, typically takes seven to ten business days.
