Align Your Credentials to Semiconductor Manufacturing
Micron's Operations roles often sit at the intersection of engineering and production. Before applying, confirm your degree or certification maps to process engineering, materials science, or supply chain so your H-1B specialty occupation case is clean from the start.
Target Fab-Specific Openings Over General Operations
Micron's highest-volume Operations hiring clusters around its fabrication facilities in Boise, Manassas, and Singapore-linked U.S. roles. Filtering your job search to fab or manufacturing operations titles puts you where sponsorship approvals are most routine.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Verified Sponsorship Roles
Not every Micron Operations listing signals sponsorship willingness upfront. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Micron roles with confirmed visa sponsorship history, so you're applying where your H-1B or EB pathway is already supported.
Understand the LCA Prevailing Wage Before Negotiating
Micron must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying your offered wage meets prevailing wage levels for your work location. Research DOL wage data for your specific operations title and metro area before entering salary discussions so there are no surprises.
Prepare for a Cap-Subject H-1B Timeline if Currently Unlicensed
If you're not already in H-1B status, Micron's sponsorship is subject to the annual lottery with an October 1 start date. Build your job search timeline around the March registration window so an offer can move into an H-1B petition without a gap in your work authorization.
Position EB-2 or EB-3 Conversations Early in Onboarding
Micron has a pattern of supporting Green Card sponsorship for Operations staff who demonstrate retention value. Raise your interest in PERM-based sponsorship during or shortly after onboarding, while your role and responsibilities are being formally documented, not after a year of tenure.

Find Operations at Micron Technology JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Micron Technology sponsor H-1B visas for Operations roles?
Yes, Micron Technology sponsors H-1B visas for Operations positions, particularly roles tied to semiconductor fabrication, process engineering, and supply chain management. The company has a consistent sponsorship track record for this function. Your role will need to qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which typically means a requirement for a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field.
How do I apply for Operations jobs at Micron Technology?
Applications go through Micron's careers portal, where Operations roles are listed by site and function. Filter for titles like Manufacturing Engineer, Fab Operations, or Supply Chain Analyst to find relevant openings. You can also use Migrate Mate to browse Micron's Operations listings that have confirmed visa sponsorship support, which narrows your search to positions where international candidates are actively considered.
Which visa types does Micron Technology commonly use for Operations positions?
Micron sponsors H-1B visas for most Operations roles requiring a specialty occupation degree. For Australian citizens, the H-1B1 is sometimes used as a cap-exempt alternative with a faster path. For longer-term employees, Micron also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process filed with the DOL, typically after a period of full-time employment.
What qualifications does Micron Technology expect for Operations roles?
Micron's Operations hiring typically prioritizes candidates with degrees in electrical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, industrial engineering, or supply chain management. Hands-on experience with semiconductor equipment, cleanroom environments, yield analysis, or ERP systems strengthens an application considerably. For H-1B purposes, your degree field needs to align specifically with the job duties, so generalist backgrounds without a clear technical tie can create complications during petition review.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Micron Operations hire?
Timeline depends on your current status. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, Micron would register you in March for an October 1 start, meaning six or more months between offer and work authorization. If you're transferring from another H-1B employer, Micron can file a portability petition and you can start once USCIS issues a receipt notice, often within a few weeks of filing.
