Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
Operations roles at JPMorganChase span trade lifecycle, collateral management, and regulatory reporting. Make sure your degree field directly maps to the specific role you're targeting. A finance or business degree supports most ops positions, but quantitative roles may require more technical credentials.
Target internal Operations divisions strategically
JPMorganChase's Operations function sits across Corporate and Investment Banking, Asset and Wealth Management, and Consumer Banking. Research which division is hiring before applying. Divisional hiring teams operate independently, so a rejection in one line of business doesn't close doors in another.
Search verified sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Operations openings at JPMorganChase by visa type before applying. This saves you from pursuing roles where sponsorship isn't available, which is a real risk at large banks with mixed hiring practices across departments.
Prepare your LCA documentation early with your employer
Once JPMorganChase extends an offer, the Labor Condition Application must be certified by the DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. Ask your recruiter about the internal legal team's timeline so your start date accounts for this sequence correctly.
Understand the E-3 advantage if you hold Australian citizenship
JPMorganChase sponsors E-3 visas for Operations roles, and the E-3 has a dedicated annual allocation that has never been exhausted. Unlike H-1B, there's no lottery. If you're an Australian national, lead with this visa type when discussing sponsorship with your recruiter.
Confirm your role qualifies before the offer stage
Not every Operations title at JPMorganChase meets USCIS's specialty occupation threshold. Roles like trade support analyst or regulatory operations specialist typically qualify, but generalist operations coordinator positions can be borderline. Clarify with the hiring manager whether the role has been sponsored before.

Does JPMorganChase sponsor H-1B visas for Operations roles?
Yes, JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B visas for Operations positions. The firm has a well-established immigration program and works with in-house legal counsel to manage petitions. Sponsorship availability varies by role and division, so confirming directly with your recruiter during the offer stage is the right approach before assuming it's included.
How do I apply for Operations jobs at JPMorganChase?
Applications go through JPMorganChase's careers portal, where you can filter by function and location. Migrate Mate also lists verified Operations openings at JPMorganChase filtered by visa sponsorship type, which lets you confirm sponsorship eligibility before applying. For Operations roles, expect a structured interview process covering technical knowledge and operational judgment.
Which visa types does JPMorganChase commonly use for Operations positions?
JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for Operations hires, along with E-3 visas for Australian nationals. For candidates seeking permanent residency, the firm supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship. The visa type offered depends on your nationality, the specific role, and your current immigration status at the time of hire.
What qualifications does JPMorganChase expect for sponsored Operations roles?
Most sponsored Operations roles at JPMorganChase require a bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field. Roles in regulatory reporting, trade settlement, or risk operations may expect familiarity with financial products, internal controls, or compliance frameworks. Relevant internship experience or prior financial services work strengthens your application significantly.
How do I plan my timeline when JPMorganChase sponsors my H-1B?
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed in April for an October 1 start date, meaning your offer should be in place by late February or early March. If you're already in the U.S. on another valid status, JPMorganChase's legal team can file for a change of status concurrently. Premium processing through USCIS, currently 15 business days, is available if you need faster adjudication.
