Align your credentials with JPMorganChase's technical standards
JPMorganChase's Development Manager roles typically require demonstrated experience leading engineering or product teams in regulated environments. Before applying, ensure your resume reflects delivery ownership, not just contribution, and that your degree field aligns with the specialty occupation standard USCIS applies to your role.
Target teams with active technology build-outs
JPMorganChase's largest Development Manager hiring clusters around payments infrastructure, cloud migration, and regulatory technology. Focusing your applications on these verticals increases your odds of landing in a team with an established H-1B sponsorship workflow rather than one doing it for the first time.
Understand how E-3 and H-1B1 options change your timeline
If you're an Australian citizen, JPMorganChase sponsors the E-3 visa, which skips the lottery and can be processed in weeks rather than months. H-1B1 visa holders from Singapore and Chile have a similar advantage. Either path avoids the April lottery cycle entirely.
Clarify sponsorship scope during the offer stage
JPMorganChase's offer process for sponsored roles typically involves internal legal review before a written offer is issued. Ask your recruiter early whether the role is approved for sponsorship so you're not waiting on a verbal offer that stalls at legal sign-off.
Browse open Development Manager roles using Migrate Mate
Filter verified Development Manager openings at JPMorganChase by visa type on Migrate Mate. This narrows your search to roles where sponsorship has already been confirmed, so you're not spending time on applications that won't support your immigration status.
Prepare for PERM documentation if you're targeting a Green Card
JPMorganChase sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for Development Managers, which requires a PERM labor certification filed with DOL. Start gathering employment verification letters, transcripts, and foreign credential evaluations early because the documentation timeline runs parallel to your visa status, not after it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does JPMorganChase sponsor H-1B visas for Development Managers?
Yes, JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B visas for Development Manager roles. The company participates in the annual H-1B cap lottery, which runs each April for an October 1 start date. If you're an Australian citizen, JPMorganChase also sponsors the E-3 visa, which bypasses the lottery entirely and can be obtained year-round at a U.S. consulate in Australia.
Which visa types does JPMorganChase commonly use for Development Managers?
JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, E-3 visa, and employment-based Green Cards including EB-2 and EB-3 for Development Manager roles. H-1B is the most common path for most nationalities. Australian citizens have access to the E-3 visa, while Singapore and Chile nationals can use the H-1B1. Green Card sponsorship through PERM is available for longer-tenured employees in this function.
What qualifications does JPMorganChase expect for Development Manager roles?
JPMorganChase's Development Manager roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, along with substantial experience managing software development teams. Roles in regulated business lines such as payments, risk, or compliance technology often expect familiarity with financial services environments. For visa purposes, your degree field must directly align with the role's core duties to satisfy USCIS's specialty occupation standard.
How do I apply for Development Manager jobs at JPMorganChase?
You can search and apply for Development Manager roles at JPMorganChase directly through their careers portal. For the most efficient path, browse verified openings on Migrate Mate, where roles are filtered by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm a position supports your immigration status before applying. Tailor your application to the specific business line, as hiring managers across technology, operations, and product functions have different priorities.
How do I understand the timeline for H-1B sponsorship at JPMorganChase?
If your role is cap-subject, JPMorganChase must register you in the USCIS H-1B lottery each March for an October 1 start date. If selected, your employer files the full petition by June 30. Premium processing, which USCIS adjudicates within 15 business days, is available for urgent situations. Factor in a 60-day period between signing an offer and your petition filing, as internal legal review at a firm JPMorganChase's size takes time.
