Align your credentials to WSP's project sectors
WSP's Development Manager roles span infrastructure, transit, and environmental consulting. Frame your resume around sector-specific project delivery, not just management titles. Consular officers and hiring managers both respond to concrete project outcomes tied to WSP's core service lines.
Prioritize LCA-filed locations in your search
WSP files Labor Condition Applications with the DOL tied to specific work locations. Targeting offices in cities where WSP has active LCA filings increases your odds of a faster sponsorship timeline and reduces back-and-forth on prevailing wage determinations during the offer stage.
Confirm sponsorship scope during initial recruiter contact
WSP sponsors across several visa categories, but not every Development Manager opening is approved for all types. Ask the recruiter directly which visa pathways are supported for the specific role before advancing to technical interviews.
Build a PMP or sector licensure before applying
WSP's Development Manager postings consistently reference project management credentials alongside engineering or environmental qualifications. Holding a PMP or relevant state licensure before you apply removes a common objection during sponsorship review and strengthens the specialty occupation case for H-1B petitions filed with USCIS.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified WSP openings by visa type
Not every WSP job posting makes sponsorship eligibility clear. Use Migrate Mate to filter Development Manager roles at WSP by the visa types you need, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than guessing from generic job board listings.
Understand the PERM timeline if targeting a Green Card
WSP supports EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship for eligible roles, but PERM labor certification with the DOL adds months to the process. Raise Green Card interest early in offer negotiations so WSP's immigration team can assess whether the role qualifies and initiate PERM recruitment requirements in parallel.

Does WSP sponsor H-1B visas for Development Managers?
Yes, WSP sponsors H-1B visas for Development Manager roles. WSP is a well-established H-1B sponsor with a consistent sponsorship history across consulting and infrastructure functions. Because H-1B sponsorship is employer-initiated, you'll need a signed offer before WSP can file the I-129 petition with USCIS. Confirm sponsorship eligibility for the specific role and office location early in the process.
Which visa types are commonly used for Development Manager roles at WSP?
WSP sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Development Manager positions, and supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for eligible candidates. E-3 applies to Australian citizens, and TN applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. The right visa type depends on your citizenship, degree field, and the specific role's requirements.
What qualifications and experience does WSP expect for Development Manager roles?
WSP's Development Manager postings typically require a bachelor's degree in engineering, planning, environmental science, or a related technical field, combined with several years of project delivery or client-facing management experience. A PMP certification or relevant professional licensure is frequently listed as preferred. For H-1B sponsorship, USCIS requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, so a field-specific degree is essential, not just general management experience.
How do I apply for Development Manager jobs at WSP?
Browse open Development Manager roles at WSP on Migrate Mate, where listings are filtered by visa sponsorship type so you can identify roles that match your authorization needs before applying. Once you identify a suitable posting, apply through WSP's careers portal and flag your visa sponsorship requirements early in recruiter conversations to avoid advancing through interviews before sponsorship feasibility is confirmed.
How do I plan my timeline for a Development Manager role at WSP with H-1B sponsorship?
If you need a new H-1B cap-subject petition, the annual lottery opens in March for an October 1 start date, meaning you need an offer in place by February at the latest. WSP can file H-1B transfers for candidates already holding H-1B status year-round without lottery constraints. F-1 OPT holders should account for the USCIS 90-day cap-gap period when planning a transition to H-1B status.
