- Ability to travel regularly for customer and partner engagements.
- Experience working in a goal-oriented environment with measurable performance expectations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience managing field-based customer relationships across a regional or national territory.
- Knowledge of solution selling methodologies and complex sales cycles.
- Experience working with vendors, channel partners, distributors, or reseller ecosystems.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, account planning, forecasting, and sales analytics.
- Experience operating in supply-constrained, allocation-driven, or highly competitive market environments is a plus.

Align your portfolio to managed services delivery
Ingram Micro's Development Manager roles sit within technology distribution and professional services, not pure product engineering. Frame your experience around delivery lifecycle management, vendor integrations, and cross-functional team leadership to match how they define the role internally.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before your interview
Ingram Micro participates in E-Verify, which is required for F-1 OPT employment authorization. Before your first interview, verify this through the E-Verify employer search so you're not raising it as an unknown during offer negotiations.
Target internal transfers if you are on TN status
TN visa holders at Ingram Micro can transfer between roles without a new employer petition, but a Development Manager title change from a non-managerial role may require a fresh TN letter confirming the position qualifies under NAFTA/USMCA categories.
Search open Development Manager roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Development Manager openings at Ingram Micro by visa type, so you can identify which positions are actively being staffed for sponsored candidates rather than cold-applying across all postings.
Prepare your credentials for a PERM audit scenario
If your goal is Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3, organise foreign degree equivalency evaluations and employment history documentation now. DOL audits on PERM applications for managerial roles at large employers are not uncommon, and missing records create multi-month delays.
Time your application around H-1B cap registration
If you need H-1B cap sponsorship, a Development Manager offer must be in place before USCIS opens registration in March. Starting the hiring process in Q4 gives you and the recruiting team enough runway to align offer timing with the annual lottery window.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Ingram Micro sponsor H-1B visas for Development Managers?
Yes, Ingram Micro sponsors H-1B visas for Development Manager roles. The company has a consistent history of filing H-1B petitions for technical and managerial positions within its professional services and technology distribution operations. If you need H-1B sponsorship, confirm at the offer stage that the specific role and business unit are approved to sponsor, as practices can vary across divisions.
Which visa types does Ingram Micro commonly use for Development Manager roles?
Ingram Micro sponsors H-1B and TN visas for active employment, and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for candidates already on student status. For longer-term pathways, the company also files EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card petitions for Development Managers, which typically begin after an employee has been in role for some time and involves PERM labor certification through the DOL.
What qualifications and experience does Ingram Micro expect for Development Manager roles?
Ingram Micro typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, combined with hands-on experience managing software development or IT delivery teams. Given the company's professional services focus, strong familiarity with project delivery frameworks, vendor management, and distributed team coordination carries significant weight alongside technical depth.
How do I apply for Development Manager jobs at Ingram Micro?
You can browse and apply for Development Manager roles at Ingram Micro directly through their careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which filters open positions by visa sponsorship type so you can identify roles where sponsorship is available before applying. Tailor your application to highlight delivery management experience within technology services environments, which aligns with Ingram Micro's core business.
How do I manage timing if I am on OPT and waiting for H-1B sponsorship?
If you receive a Development Manager offer while on F-1 OPT, your employer must file your H-1B petition by April 1 for an October 1 start under the cap. If your OPT expires before October 1, a timely filed petition with USCIS provides a cap-gap extension that covers the interim period, provided you remain employed with the sponsoring employer throughout.
