Frame your credentials around channel sales
Ingram Micro's Business Development roles center on technology distribution and reseller partnerships. Organize your resume around partner pipeline metrics, vendor relationship management, and channel program experience before you apply, these signal direct role fit to their hiring teams.
Target roles tied to vendor programs
Ingram Micro structures many Business Development Manager positions around specific vendor lines like Cisco, HP, or Microsoft. Applying to openings aligned with a vendor you have certified experience in gives you a stronger sponsorship case because the specialty occupation argument is easier to document.
Clarify OPT or CPT authorization early
If you're on F-1 status, confirm with your DSO that your role qualifies under your authorized STEM or non-STEM OPT category before accepting an offer. Business Development Manager titles can attract USCIS scrutiny if the job duties aren't clearly tied to a specific degree field.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Business Development roles
Ingram Micro posts Business Development Manager openings across multiple divisions and regions, and not all are easy to surface on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Ingram Micro roles that include visa sponsorship so you're only pursuing confirmed opportunities.
Prepare a degree-to-role justification document
For PERM or H-1B petitions, your immigration attorney will need to show DOL that a Business Development Manager role at Ingram Micro requires a specific bachelor's degree. Draft a one-page explanation linking your degree field, business, marketing, or IT, directly to the channel sales responsibilities in your offer letter.

Find Business Development Manager at Ingram Micro JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Ingram Micro sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Managers?
Yes, Ingram Micro sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development Managers. The company has a documented history of filing H-1B petitions for this role type, particularly for positions tied to specific vendor programs or technical distribution functions where a relevant degree requirement can be substantiated with USCIS. Confirming sponsorship intent early in the interview process is advisable.
How do I apply for Business Development Manager jobs at Ingram Micro?
You can apply through Ingram Micro's careers portal or use Migrate Mate to browse their open Business Development Manager roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility. When applying, tailor your resume to the specific vendor line or regional channel focus listed in the job description, as Ingram Micro's Business Development roles vary significantly by division and technology segment.
Which visa types does Ingram Micro commonly use for Business Development Manager roles?
Ingram Micro sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development Managers as the primary nonimmigrant work visa. They also support F-1 OPT and CPT for candidates already in the U.S. on student status, and TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business or management categories. For longer-term employment, EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship is available after an initial period.
What qualifications does Ingram Micro expect for Business Development Manager roles?
Most Business Development Manager roles at Ingram Micro require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, information technology, or a related field, along with experience in channel sales, vendor partnerships, or technology distribution. Vendor certifications from companies like Cisco, HP, or Microsoft strengthen your application. Roles tied to specific vendor programs often have more defined technical or industry requirements listed in the posting.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Business Development Manager at Ingram Micro?
If you're transitioning from F-1 OPT, Ingram Micro would typically file your H-1B registration in March through the USCIS lottery for an October 1 start date. Standard H-1B processing runs three to five months after selection, though premium processing can reduce USCIS adjudication to 15 business days. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship is a separate multi-year process that usually begins after your first year of employment.
