Frame your credentials around program delivery
WSP evaluates Program Development Manager candidates on demonstrated experience managing large-scale, cross-functional programs. Organize your resume around measurable program outcomes, budget ownership, and stakeholder governance rather than general project coordination.
Research WSP's active infrastructure practice areas
WSP's Program Development Manager openings cluster around transportation, environment, and advisory services. Targeting business units where WSP holds active federal or state contracts strengthens your case, since those engagements drive consistent headcount planning and sponsorship decisions.
Clarify visa category fit before your first interview
WSP sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT for this role. Know which category applies to your citizenship before outreach so you can address sponsorship directly and confidently during recruiter screens, rather than leaving it as an open question late in the process.
Time your application around OPT cap-gap risk
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT expiration against WSP's hiring timeline. An H-1B petition filed before April 1 with an October 1 start date covers the cap-gap period, but a delayed offer can leave you without authorization before the petition activates.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Program Development Manager roles
WSP posts Program Development Manager positions across multiple regions and practice areas simultaneously. Search and filter these openings by visa type and location on Migrate Mate to focus your applications on roles where sponsorship is confirmed rather than implied.
Prepare for DOL prevailing wage documentation early
For H-1B and PERM-track roles at WSP, DOL prevailing wage determinations are tied to the specific job location and duties. If your role spans multiple sites, confirm with your recruiter how the work location is classified, since this directly affects filing timelines.

Find Program Development Manager at WSP JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does WSP sponsor H-1B visas for Program Development Managers?
Yes, WSP sponsors H-1B visas for Program Development Manager roles. The company works with immigration counsel to file cap-subject petitions ahead of the April 1 USCIS filing window, targeting an October 1 start date. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, WSP can file an H-1B transfer, which allows you to begin work once USCIS receives the petition.
Which visa types are commonly used for Program Development Manager roles at WSP?
WSP sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways for this role. Australian citizens typically use the E-3, Canadian and Mexican nationals often qualify for TN status under the USMCA professional categories, and recent graduates may start on F-1 OPT before transitioning to an employer-sponsored visa.
What qualifications and experience are expected for Program Development Manager roles at WSP?
WSP typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in engineering, planning, business, or a related technical field, combined with substantial experience managing multi-phase programs in infrastructure, consulting, or advisory services. PMP certification or equivalent program management credentials strengthen your profile. Experience working on public-sector or federally funded projects is a recurring requirement across many of WSP's Program Development Manager postings.
How do I apply for Program Development Manager jobs at WSP?
You can browse open Program Development Manager positions at WSP filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles where sponsorship is confirmed. Once you identify a relevant opening, applications go through WSP's career portal. Tailor your application to the specific practice area and region, since Program Development Manager roles at WSP vary considerably in scope depending on the business unit.
How do I understand the timeline for WSP to sponsor my visa as a Program Development Manager?
Timeline depends on your visa category. H-1B sponsorship follows the annual April lottery cycle with an October 1 start, so a role accepted in January may not authorize work for nine months. E-3 and TN visas can be processed at a consulate in weeks. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 typically takes one to several years depending on your country of birth and priority date.
