Job Description
Join a high-impact team where you help shape decisions for our Merchant Services business. You'll work with large datasets to drive actionable insight, craft compelling executive materials, and partner across teams to solve complex problems. We're looking for a proactive self-starter who takes ownership, thrives on curiosity, and moves work forward as part of a collaborative, supportive team. As a Business Management Associate in the Commercial & Investment Banking (CIB) Finance & Business Management (F&BM) team, you support the Merchant Services (Payments) Small and Medium Business (SMB) by delivering reporting, analytics, and executive materials that inform strategic decisions. A core part of this role is working hands-on with big data—wrangling, cleaning, and transforming large, disparate datasets into reliable, decision-ready intelligence. You will partner with business managers, finance, and project teams to lead financial processes, investment planning, business cases, budgeting, monthly reviews, OKRs, and special projects. Your work will surface trends, risks, and opportunities that help senior leadership optimize performance and manage risk.
Job Responsibilities
- Take initiative to independently build and maintain recurring and ad-hoc reporting to track key business drivers and performance trends—anticipating needs before they are raised.
- Work extensively with large, complex datasets: source, cleanse, validate, and transform raw data into accurate, analysis-ready foundations.
- Perform deep-dive analyses to identify risks, opportunities, and root causes, translating findings into clear recommendations.
- Proactively prepare weekly and monthly executive reporting packages and presentations that communicate strategy and performance projections.
- Rapidly create mock-ups for management presentations, reports, and dashboards to accelerate decision-making.
- Coordinate deliverables and timelines with business managers, finance, project managers, and other F&BM partners.
- Respond promptly and independently to executive ad-hoc requests across project management, presentation development, and business analysis.
- Leverage Excel and Alteryx to organize, cleanse, and analyze large datasets at scale; distill insights into concise, executive-ready materials.
- Self-direct problem-solving: identify issues, align stakeholders, design solutions, and drive execution through resolution with clear, timely communication.
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while simplifying and improving business processes with global team members.
- Contribute to investment planning, business cases, budgeting, monthly business reviews, and OKRs for the SMB portfolio.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, MIS, or a related field.
- Proven self-starter who takes ownership and drives work forward independently, while knowing when to lean on and collaborate with a supportive team of business managers, finance partners, and F&BM colleagues.
- Demonstrated experience working with big data—comfortable handling large, messy, multi-source datasets and performing rigorous data cleaning, validation, and transformation to ensure integrity and accuracy.
- Strong presentation and storytelling skills; ability to craft a clear narrative and translate complex qualitative and quantitative insights into concise executive materials.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; ability to handle and manipulate large datasets and derive decision-ready insights; knowledge of or interest in learning Alteryx.
- Demonstrated project and time management skills with strong organization and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate across large, matrixed teams; build trusted relationships and influence at multiple levels; partner with leadership to implement business solutions.
- Self-motivated, tenacious, and able to work independently; adaptable to shifting priorities while maintaining high-quality outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Hands-on experience cleaning, wrangling, and automating workflows on large datasets using Excel and Alteryx.
- Experience working with modern data platforms and querying tools such as Snowflake, Databricks, or SQL to extract, transform, and analyze large datasets.
- Experience using PowerPoint with PitchPro+ for executive-level presentation development.

Align your credentials to U.S. accounting standards
JPMorganChase's accounting teams operate under U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting frameworks. If your degree or work history is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-member service to confirm equivalency before you apply.
Target roles within the Controller and CFO organizations
Accounting Analyst openings at JPMorganChase are concentrated in their Corporate Finance, Controllers, and Business Unit CFO teams. Filtering your search by these internal divisions surfaces the roles most likely to have active sponsorship budget approved.
Use Migrate Mate to surface sponsoring Accounting Analyst openings
Migrate Mate filters JPMorganChase job listings specifically by visa sponsorship history for accounting roles, saving you from applying to postings where sponsorship is unlikely. Start your search there before going directly to JPMorganChase's careers portal.
Clarify sponsorship scope before accepting an offer
JPMorganChase sponsors multiple visa categories for accounting functions, but not every hiring manager knows which applies to your situation. Before signing, confirm with the recruiter whether they'll support H-1B, E-3, or employment-based Green Card sponsorship for the specific role.
Plan around H-1B cap timing if you're on OPT
If you're on F-1 OPT, JPMorganChase typically files H-1B petitions in April for an October 1 start. The 60-day grace period and STEM OPT extension timelines affect when you need your offer finalized, so work backward from the USCIS lottery registration window in March.
Prepare for PERM requirements if targeting a Green Card path
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, JPMorganChase must complete PERM labor certification through DOL before filing your immigrant petition. This process can take 12 to 18 months, so raise your long-term immigration goals during the offer stage, not after you've already started.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does JPMorganChase sponsor H-1B visas for Accounting Analysts?
Yes, JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B visas for Accounting Analyst roles and has a well-established process for doing so. The company files petitions through the USCIS annual H-1B cap lottery each spring. If you're already on H-1B with another employer, JPMorganChase can also file an H-1B transfer, which lets you start working as soon as the petition is received by USCIS.
How do I apply for Accounting Analyst jobs at JPMorganChase?
Search JPMorganChase's careers portal directly using terms like 'Accounting Analyst' combined with the business line you're targeting, such as Corporate Finance or Controllers. For a filtered view that surfaces only roles with a sponsorship track record, browse through Migrate Mate first. Tailor your resume to reflect U.S. GAAP experience and any exposure to regulatory or financial reporting frameworks relevant to large financial institutions.
Which visa types does JPMorganChase commonly use for Accounting Analyst roles?
JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for Accounting Analyst positions, with H-1B being the most common pathway for candidates from India, Nigeria, and most other countries. Australian citizens can be sponsored on the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and allows year-round filing. For long-term permanent residence, JPMorganChase supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the DOL PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications does JPMorganChase expect for an Accounting Analyst role?
JPMorganChase typically expects a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field for Accounting Analyst positions. CPA candidacy or progress toward CPA licensure is frequently preferred, particularly for roles in external reporting or regulatory accounting. Hands-on experience with U.S. GAAP, financial close processes, or internal controls strengthens your application significantly. Advanced Excel and familiarity with enterprise systems like SAP or Oracle are common technical requirements.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for an Accounting Analyst at JPMorganChase?
For H-1B, the standard timeline runs from USCIS lottery registration in March to an October 1 work start date. Premium processing is available and reduces the adjudication window to 15 business days once the petition is filed. E-3 visa applicants can move faster, with consular processing often completed within two to four weeks of the employer filing the Labor Condition Application with DOL. Green Card timelines through PERM are considerably longer, often spanning two or more years depending on your country of birth.
