Frame your PM credentials around semiconductor manufacturing
Applied Materials recruits Project Managers to oversee equipment development, fab integration, and global supply chain programs. Tailor your resume to reflect experience managing technical hardware or manufacturing projects, not just general program delivery or software-adjacent work.
Target roles that align with your visa timeline
Applied Materials sponsors across several visa categories, but your current status determines which path is realistic. If you're on F-1 OPT with a STEM extension, prioritize roles before your OPT window closes to allow time for H-1B cap filing in April.
Search open Project Manager roles using Migrate Mate
Filter by visa type and industry on Migrate Mate to surface active Project Manager openings at Applied Materials that match your sponsorship needs. Verified sponsorship history for this role is surfaced directly in results, saving you from cold outreach to confirm eligibility.
Ask specifically about LCA scope during interviews
Applied Materials operates across multiple U.S. sites including Santa Clara, Austin, and Gloucester. The DOL Labor Condition Application ties your prevailing wage to your work location, so confirm which site a role is based at before an offer is extended.
Prepare PMP certification before final interviews
Project Manager postings at Applied Materials in hardware and semiconductor divisions frequently list PMP certification as a preferred or required qualification. Having it documented before the offer stage avoids delays and strengthens your case if the employer is weighing sponsorship costs.
Understand the EB-2 and EB-3 sequencing for long-term planning
Applied Materials sponsors Green Card filings through PERM for established employees. Project Managers in electronics hardware typically qualify under EB-3, though roles requiring advanced degrees or specialized semiconductor expertise may support EB-2. Clarify the expected pathway during offer negotiation, not after onboarding.

Find Project Manager at Applied Materials JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Applied Materials sponsor H-1B visas for Project Managers?
Yes, Applied Materials sponsors H-1B visas for Project Manager roles. The company participates in the annual H-1B cap lottery each April and also files for H-1B1 visas for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, which are not subject to the lottery. If you're on OPT, timing your offer to allow cap-season filing is important.
How do I apply for Project Manager jobs at Applied Materials?
You can apply directly through the Applied Materials careers portal. Migrate Mate also aggregates open Project Manager roles at Applied Materials and filters by visa sponsorship type, so you can confirm sponsorship eligibility before applying. Tailor your application to reflect semiconductor manufacturing, equipment programs, or supply chain coordination relevant to the specific team.
Which visa types does Applied Materials commonly use for Project Manager roles?
Applied Materials sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for Project Managers, along with F-1 OPT and CPT for students in qualifying STEM programs. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible professional categories. For longer-term employees, Applied Materials supports Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 via the PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications does Applied Materials expect for sponsored Project Manager roles?
Most Project Manager openings at Applied Materials require a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, along with demonstrated experience managing cross-functional hardware or manufacturing programs. PMP certification is frequently listed as preferred. Roles tied to semiconductor equipment development or fab integration often expect familiarity with industry-specific development cycles and global supply chain operations.
How do I time my application around the H-1B filing process?
USCIS opens H-1B cap registration in March and conducts the lottery shortly after. To be included, you need a signed offer and a registered employer before the window closes. If you're on OPT with a STEM extension, you have up to three years of work authorization, which gives more flexibility. Target Applied Materials roles at least six months before your current authorization expires.
