- Experience working with suppliers and internal business partners to drive performance, compliance, and process improvement.
- Familiarity with ESG-related topics such as supplier sustainability, human rights due diligence, responsible sourcing, carbon reduction, or supply chain compliance.
- Familiarization and experience using Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
Preferred qualifications

- Demonstrated ability to work through ambiguity, build structure, and drive execution in evolving program areas.
- Passion for sustainability, operational excellence, and building scalable business processes.
- Experience in semiconductor, electronics, capital equipment, or other complex global manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of ESG frameworks and standards such as RBA, SBTi, GRI, SASB/ISSB, TCFD, or OECD due diligence guidance.
- Experience with Scope 3 emissions, supply chain decarbonization, conflict minerals/responsible minerals, forced labor compliance, or material traceability.

Translate your credentials into semiconductor terms
Lam Research's Project Manager roles sit at the intersection of engineering and operations. Frame your resume around cross-functional coordination on hardware or manufacturing programs, not generic project delivery. PMP certification and familiarity with NPI processes strengthen your application.
Target roles tied to equipment programs
Lam Research organizes project management around specific product lines and customer accounts. Filter open roles by business unit to find positions closest to your technical background, whether that's etch, deposition, or CMP process equipment.
Research open roles through Migrate Mate
Lam Research posts Project Manager openings across multiple sites and business units. Use Migrate Mate to filter for visa-sponsored roles at Lam Research specifically, so you spend time on positions where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than guessing during the process.
Clarify your visa category before the offer stage
H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT all have different employer obligations and timelines. Know which category applies to you before you reach the offer conversation, so you can speak to the process clearly and avoid delays when Lam Research's immigration team initiates filing.
Align your start date with H-1B cap timelines
If you need a new H-1B, USCIS opens registration in March for an October 1 start. If your OPT or grace period ends before then, discuss cap-gap coverage or an alternative visa category with Lam Research's immigration counsel before signing an offer.
Understand how PERM affects your long-term path
Lam Research sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for qualifying roles, which requires a PERM labor certification through DOL. Project Managers in semiconductor companies often qualify, but the process can take years, so raise permanent residency sponsorship early in your offer negotiation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Lam Research sponsor H-1B visas for Project Managers?
Yes, Lam Research sponsors H-1B visas for Project Manager roles. The company has a consistent track record of filing H-1B petitions for this function, particularly for roles requiring specialized knowledge of semiconductor equipment programs or manufacturing processes. If you're in the H-1B lottery or need a transfer from a current employer, Lam Research's in-house immigration team handles the filing process.
Which visa types does Lam Research commonly use for Project Manager roles?
Lam Research sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN visa, J-1 visa, and employment-based Green Cards (EB-2 and EB-3) for qualifying positions. For Project Manager roles specifically, H-1B is the most common path for long-term employment. TN visa is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose role qualifies under USMCA categories. F-1 OPT and CPT are used for candidates still completing degree programs or in their post-graduation work authorization window.
How do I apply for Project Manager jobs at Lam Research?
Applications go through Lam Research's careers portal at lamresearch.com. Search for Project Manager roles filtered by location and business unit. Tailor your application to highlight hardware program management experience, cross-functional team coordination, and any background in semiconductor or capital equipment environments. Migrate Mate is a useful starting point to identify which open roles at Lam Research include confirmed visa sponsorship before you apply.
What qualifications does Lam Research expect for sponsored Project Manager roles?
Most Project Manager roles at Lam Research require a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, which also supports the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B eligibility. Hands-on experience managing hardware development or manufacturing programs is heavily weighted. PMP certification is valued but not always required. Roles tied to customer-facing programs may also require experience coordinating across engineering, supply chain, and field service teams.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Project Manager offer at Lam Research?
For H-1B transfers from another employer, USCIS allows you to start work as soon as the petition is filed, with no waiting for approval. For new H-1B cap cases, the earliest start date is October 1 following the March lottery, which means planning six to seven months ahead. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship, if offered, typically takes two to four years from initiation through DOL and USCIS, depending on your country of birth and priority date.
