Tailor your resume to Apple's hardware programs
Apple's Program Manager roles often support hardware or silicon initiatives, not just software. Highlight experience managing cross-functional timelines, NPI processes, or supply chain coordination. Applicants who frame credentials around physical product delivery stand out from candidates with pure software backgrounds.
Map your visa type to Apple's sponsorship history
Apple sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and H-1B1 holders for Program Manager roles, so your nationality directly shapes your path. Australian citizens on the E-3 and Canadian or Mexican professionals on the TN face no lottery, which affects how quickly you can start.
Verify your specialty occupation documentation early
USCIS scrutinizes Program Manager petitions under the specialty occupation standard. A business administration degree alone may not satisfy the requirement. Gather transcripts, course descriptions, and any advanced credentials in engineering, operations research, or a technical field before your employer files Form I-129.
Target Apple's posted roles using Migrate Mate
Apple lists Program Manager openings across hardware, operations, and product teams simultaneously, making it hard to identify which postings actively support sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsoring roles at Apple directly, so you're applying to positions with a real path to a visa.
Negotiate offer timing around the H-1B cap
If you need H-1B sponsorship, the annual cap registration window opens in March for an October 1 start date. Align your interview process so an offer can be extended before early March. Accepting an offer in April means waiting nearly a full year for cap-subject status to begin.
Confirm Apple's LCA covers your specific work location
Apple has major Program Manager hubs in Cupertino, Austin, and Seattle. The Labor Condition Application filed with DOL is location-specific. If your role shifts to a different site after filing, your employer must file an amended LCA or your visa compliance is at risk.

Find Program Manager at Apple JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Apple sponsor H-1B visas for Program Managers?
Yes, Apple sponsors H-1B visas for Program Manager roles, but the position must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards. Apple typically supports this by requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a technical or analytical field. Roles tied to hardware engineering programs or operations research tend to have the clearest specialty occupation basis.
Which visa types does Apple commonly use for Program Manager roles?
Apple sponsors Program Managers on several visa types, including H-1B for most international applicants, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican professionals in qualifying categories, and H-1B1 for Chilean and Singaporean nationals. F-1 OPT and CPT are also supported, giving recent graduates a path to start before a long-term visa petition is filed.
What qualifications does Apple expect for a Program Manager position?
Apple generally expects a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline, combined with demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional programs. Roles supporting hardware or silicon development often require familiarity with NPI or manufacturing workflows. An MBA with a technical undergraduate degree is also a common profile Apple recruits for senior Program Manager levels.
How do I apply for Program Manager jobs at Apple?
You can apply directly through Apple's careers site or find visa-sponsored Program Manager openings filtered by sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate. Apple's hiring process for this role typically includes a recruiter screen, multiple behavioral and operational interviews, and a cross-functional panel. Preparing examples of program delivery under tight constraints and ambiguous requirements is essential for clearing the panel stage.
How do I plan my timeline if I need Apple to file an H-1B petition for a Program Manager role?
The H-1B cap registration period runs in March, with employment beginning no earlier than October 1 if selected. You need a signed offer before registration opens, which means targeting Apple's hiring cycle in the preceding months. If you're currently on F-1 OPT, you may be eligible for a 24-month STEM extension, giving you additional runway while your H-1B petition is pending.
