Frame your portfolio around systems scale
Netflix Project Engineers work on infrastructure and delivery systems that operate at massive scale. Tailor your resume and portfolio to show experience with distributed systems, CI/CD pipelines, or cloud infrastructure rather than general software development work.
Confirm Netflix's LCA filings before applying
Search the DOL's OFLC disclosure database for Netflix LCA filings under Project Engineer or related titles. Confirmed filings tell you which roles and office locations Netflix actively files for, narrowing your applications to positions with real sponsorship precedent.
Prepare a degree-to-role equivalency argument early
USCIS requires the sponsored role to qualify as a specialty occupation tied to your specific degree field. For Project Engineer positions, document how your engineering degree directly maps to the technical scope of the role before your offer letter arrives.
Surface open roles using Migrate Mate
Filter by Project Engineer roles at Netflix on Migrate Mate to see which positions are actively open and tied to sponsorship-eligible categories, so you're applying to listings with confirmed immigration pathways rather than guessing from a general job board.
Negotiate your start date around I-129 processing timelines
Standard USCIS processing for an H-1B I-129 petition can run several months. Once Netflix extends an offer, ask HR directly whether they use premium processing, and factor that into any start date discussion to avoid gaps in your work authorization.

Find Project Engineer at Netflix JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Netflix sponsor H-1B visas for Project Engineers?
Yes, Netflix sponsors H-1B visas for Project Engineer roles. The process requires Netflix to file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL and then submit an I-129 petition to USCIS on your behalf. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, timing your application around the April lottery window is essential. Netflix's engineering teams have a consistent history of sponsoring technical roles through this pathway.
How do I apply for Project Engineer jobs at Netflix?
Applications go through Netflix's careers site, but finding roles with confirmed sponsorship eligibility is easier when you use a targeted tool. Migrate Mate lists open Project Engineer positions at Netflix filtered by visa sponsorship type, so you can identify relevant openings before applying. When you apply, tailor your materials to Netflix's engineering culture, which emphasizes autonomy, technical depth, and systems thinking at scale.
Which visa types does Netflix commonly sponsor for Project Engineer roles?
Netflix sponsors multiple visa categories for engineering positions, including H-1B, E-3 (for Australian citizens), TN (for Canadian and Mexican nationals), F-1 OPT and CPT for students, J-1, and immigrant pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards. The right visa for you depends on your nationality, degree, and where you are in the sponsorship process. E-3 is often the fastest route for Australians since it bypasses the H-1B lottery.
What qualifications does Netflix expect for Project Engineer roles?
Project Engineer positions at Netflix typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering discipline, such as computer science, electrical engineering, or a closely related field. Practical experience with cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, or large-scale systems is consistently valued. Netflix's engineering culture places significant weight on independent judgment and the ability to operate with minimal process overhead, so demonstrating ownership of past projects matters as much as technical credentials.
How do I understand the timeline from job offer to visa approval at Netflix?
After an offer is extended, Netflix's immigration team initiates the sponsorship process, which typically begins with a DOL Labor Condition Application. For H-1B, standard USCIS processing can take several months, while premium processing reduces that window significantly. E-3 visa holders can often complete consular processing in Australia within weeks of receiving a certified LCA. Build at least three to six months of buffer into your planning depending on the visa category.
