INTRODUCTION
At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.
Our Experiences team puts fans at the center of their favorite stories, in real life, through permanent entertainment venues, Netflix House, and touring attractions around the world. Netflix Houses are our permanent, always-on, constantly refreshable entertainment venues, where guests can step into their favorite stories. We want these experiences, along with merchandise offerings, to help promote love for our titles so they become part of the zeitgeist for longer periods of time and drive long-term value for Netflix.
As the Manager, Business Development & Licensing – Experiences (UCAN & LATAM), you will be a key strategic partner to the Director, BD & Licensing, and a central pillar for our licensed experiences business in the Americas. You will lead the end-to-end evaluation of new licensed opportunities, from inbound triage through deal recommendation, and help shape how Netflix brings its stories to life across touring and permanent attractions in the region.
This role blends strategic analysis, market scouting, and relationship-building. You will be responsible for building and managing a high-quality pipeline of partners, developing the business cases behind our deals, and ensuring that opportunities are aligned with our global strategy, brand, and financial goals.
What you will do:
- Manage the high volume of inbound licensing proposals for the regions. Act as the first point of assessment to decide which ideas should be explored, paused, or declined based on strategic fit and commercial potential.
- Translate creative concepts into data-backed business cases. You will build rationales including market sizing, attendance projections, revenue potential, and risk/return analysis.
- Work closely with the Director on negotiation strategy and term sheet development. Ensure alignment across Legal, Finance, Marketing, and Content teams to drive priority deals forward.
- Step in as a decision-making proxy when needed on day-to-day matters, escalating only the most critical or high-impact questions.
- Proactively identify and build “warm” relationships with leading and emerging players in location-based entertainment, live experiences, and immersive formats.
- Work with the Director to originate unique, high-impact opportunities that expand how fans can experience Netflix IP.
- Partner with leaders across the US, Canada, and LATAM to ensure experiences support local content priorities. (Travel within these regions is required).
- Coordinate with internal and external partners to diligence opportunities, including operational capabilities, reach, and brand alignment.
- Support the preparation of materials for partner pitches, internal deal reviews, and executive updates, clearly articulating the strategy, economics, and fan impact.
- Partner closely with execution teams to ensure smooth hand-off from deal approval into production and ongoing operations.
- Provide strategic context and guardrails for active licenses so execution remains aligned with the original business intent.
What we need from you:
- 7+ years of experience in business development, strategy, partnerships, or a related field within entertainment, location-based experiences, themed attractions, live events, hospitality, or consumer brands.
- Proven ability to structure complex licensing deals with both creative and commercial components. Experience with both permanent and touring formats is a strong plus.
- Demonstrated ability to build clear, data-driven business cases and recommendations.
- Ability to synthesize creative concepts, audience insights, and financial analysis into compelling, structured narratives for decision-makers.
- Passion for all forms of entertainment and pop culture, with curiosity about how fans want to engage with stories in real life.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and external partners.
- Strong organizational and project management skills; able to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously and keep stakeholders aligned.
- Detail-oriented and solutions-focused, with the ability to anticipate issues and propose practical paths forward.
- Willing to take smart risks while always acting in the best interests of Netflix’s brand, members, and long-term value.
- Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus, but not required.
COMPENSATION
- Salary Range: $215,000.00 - $346,000.00.
Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range.
Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off. Full-time salaried employees are immediately entitled to flexible time off.
Netflix is a unique culture and environment.
Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner.

We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, ancestry, national origin, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic makeup, marital status, or military service.

Frame Your Deal Experience for Content Partnerships
Netflix BD roles center on licensing, co-productions, and distribution deals. Before applying, document specific partnership negotiations you've led, the revenue or reach impact, and the cross-functional teams involved. Vague commercial experience won't move you past initial screening.
Target Roles Aligned With Your Visa Category
Netflix sponsors multiple visa types for BD roles, including H-1B, E-3, and TN. Identify which category fits your nationality and background before applying so your cover letter and recruiter conversations reflect a realistic sponsorship path from day one.
Search Verified Sponsoring Employers on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Business Development Manager openings at Netflix by the visa type you need. This narrows your search to roles where sponsorship is confirmed rather than assumed, saving weeks of outreach to employers who won't file.
Start the LCA Conversation Before You Negotiate Salary
Netflix must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your H-1B or E-3 petition can proceed. The certified LCA locks in your wage level, so raising salary expectations after filing creates complications. Clarify compensation before the LCA is submitted.
Build a Case for Specialty Occupation Early
USCIS scrutinizes BD roles under H-1B because the specialty occupation requirement demands a direct link between your degree field and the position. A business degree alone may not suffice. Pair it with demonstrable expertise in streaming, media licensing, or technology partnerships.
Prepare for a Structured Multi-Round Interview Process
Netflix's hiring process for BD roles typically runs through multiple rounds covering strategy, cross-functional influence, and deal-making scenarios. Delays between rounds can affect your OPT or grace period timing, so track your authorization expiry against each stage of the process.

Find Business Development Manager at Netflix JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Netflix sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Managers?
Yes, Netflix sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development Manager roles. To qualify, the position must meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard, which requires a direct relationship between the role's duties and a specific degree field. BD roles at Netflix typically involve complex content or technology partnerships, which generally supports that requirement when documented carefully.
How do I apply for Business Development Manager jobs at Netflix?
Applications go through Netflix's careers portal. Tailor your resume to highlight deal structures, partner relationships, and measurable commercial outcomes rather than general business development responsibilities. Netflix recruiters for BD roles respond well to candidates who can speak to specific verticals, whether that's streaming content, advertising technology, or international market expansion. Migrate Mate also lists open Business Development Manager positions at Netflix filtered by visa sponsorship type.
Which visa types does Netflix commonly use for Business Development Manager roles?
Netflix sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT for BD roles, along with EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employment. E-3 applies exclusively to Australian citizens and often moves faster than H-1B due to the absence of a lottery. TN covers Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. The right pathway depends on your nationality, degree, and where you are in the immigration process.
What qualifications does Netflix expect for a sponsored Business Development Manager?
Netflix typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, economics, or a related field, combined with direct experience in deal-making within technology, media, or entertainment. For visa sponsorship purposes, the degree field should map clearly to the role's core functions. Candidates with backgrounds in streaming platforms, ad tech partnerships, or content distribution tend to align well with Netflix's BD hiring priorities.
How do I time my application around H-1B filing deadlines?
The H-1B cap registration window typically opens in March, with a lottery selection shortly after. If selected, your employer can file the full petition from April 1, with an earliest start date of October 1. This means you need an offer and a willing employer before March registration opens. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your authorization end date against that timeline to avoid a gap in work authorization.
