- Prioritize the product roadmap, managing near-term product delivery while formulating a long-term product strategy to provide the most relevant and innovative reporting and measurement to Netflix’s advertisers
- Be an expert on the methodologies of our campaign delivery metrics, including viewability, audience reach and frequency, eCPMs, etc.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in sales, solutions engineering, measurement analysts, ad operations, marketing, strategy, policy, and legal, as well as external auditors, to bring reporting products to market that meet MRC’s standards
- Drive the MRC accreditation process and roadmap; be the expert in MRC requirements and the technical changes required to secure accreditation for Netflix’s reporting metrics
We’re seeking a candidate who has:
- 5+ years of Product Management experience with a proven record of successfully launching and scaling platforms
- Experience launching and scaling advertising reporting products
- A thorough understanding of digital advertising reporting and measurement needs; knowledge of CTV publishers is a plus

Align your portfolio to Netflix's product pillars
Netflix Product Software Engineers work across streaming infrastructure, personalization algorithms, and device experiences. Tailor your portfolio projects to one of these areas before applying, since generic full-stack work gets filtered out early in their engineering review.
Confirm sponsorship eligibility before applying
Netflix sponsors multiple visa categories for Product Software Engineers, including H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT. Check the specific role posting for visa eligibility language, since not every team or contractor arrangement qualifies for the same sponsorship types.
Target roles that align with your current visa status
If you're on F-1 OPT, apply at least 90 days before your OPT expires to leave room for H-1B cap filing. Netflix's recruiting team works within USCIS timelines, so a tight OPT window can complicate an otherwise strong offer.
Prepare for a multi-round system design process
Netflix Product Software Engineer interviews heavily emphasize distributed systems design and product sense. Practicing system design for high-traffic, low-latency streaming scenarios directly mirrors what their engineering panels assess, and weak system design is a common rejection point regardless of immigration status.
Understand how E-3 changes the sponsorship timeline
Australian citizens can bypass the H-1B lottery entirely by applying for an E-3 visa. This removes the April lottery risk and lets Netflix process your offer year-round, making you a lower-friction hire for roles that need to be filled quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Netflix sponsor H-1B visas for Product Software Engineers?
Yes, Netflix sponsors H-1B visas for Product Software Engineers. Because the H-1B is subject to an annual cap and lottery, your application window is typically April for an October 1 start date. Netflix works with immigration counsel to file petitions on behalf of selected candidates, so timing your offer acceptance around the H-1B registration period in March is important.
How do I apply for Product Software Engineer jobs at Netflix?
Applications go through Netflix's careers portal. Most Product Software Engineer roles involve a recruiter screen, a technical phone interview, and a multi-round virtual onsite covering coding, system design, and product sense. You can also browse open Netflix roles filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate, which surfaces only positions with confirmed sponsorship history for international candidates.
Which visa types does Netflix commonly sponsor for Product Software Engineers?
Netflix sponsors H-1B, E-3 visa, TN visa, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1 visa, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Product Software Engineers. Australian citizens are strong candidates for the E-3 visa since it has no lottery and can be processed year-round. Canadian and Mexican citizens may qualify for TN visa status, which can often be obtained at the border without a petition.
What qualifications does Netflix typically expect for Product Software Engineer roles?
Netflix Product Software Engineer roles generally require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related engineering field, which also satisfies the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B and E-3 purposes. Beyond credentials, Netflix places significant weight on experience with large-scale distributed systems, and many roles expect demonstrated ownership of consumer-facing product features rather than purely backend or infrastructure work.
How do I time my Netflix application around visa filing deadlines?
If you're relying on the H-1B, USCIS opens the registration window in March for an October 1 start. Targeting a Netflix offer in January or February gives your recruiter enough lead time to register you. For E-3 and TN, there's no cap, so offers can move forward at any point in the year and consular appointments can typically be scheduled within a few weeks.
