Tailor your resume to Intuit's product stack
Intuit organizes engineering work around its core platforms like TurboTax, QuickBooks, and Credit Karma. Frame your experience around product-led development, customer-facing features, and platform scalability to match how Intuit scopes Product Software Engineer roles.
Confirm your visa type before applying
Intuit sponsors multiple visa categories, but eligibility depends on your situation. Know whether you need H-1B cap sponsorship, an E-3 as an Australian national, TN status, or OPT extension before your recruiter screen so you can answer confidently.
Target roles that align with USCIS specialty occupation standards
Product Software Engineer positions at Intuit typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related field. Roles with clear technical specialization fare better in H-1B petitions than broadly scoped product generalist titles, so filter job listings accordingly.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Product Software Engineer roles
Intuit posts Product Software Engineer openings across multiple business units and locations. Migrate Mate filters these listings by visa type so you can quickly identify the roles where your specific sponsorship needs are already accommodated.
Ask recruiting about LCA timelines during offer negotiation
Before your start date is set, confirm that your offer letter timeline accounts for DOL Labor Condition Application certification. LCA processing takes up to seven business days and must be certified before Intuit can file your H-1B petition with USCIS.
Plan your OPT to H-1B transition with cap dates in mind
If you're joining Intuit on F-1 OPT, your H-1B petition must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start. Coordinate your offer acceptance and STEM OPT extension timeline with Intuit's immigration team well before the registration window opens in March.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Intuit sponsor H-1B visas for Product Software Engineers?
Yes, Intuit sponsors H-1B visas for Product Software Engineer roles. The company works with immigration counsel to file both cap-subject petitions and cap-exempt transfers for engineers already holding H-1B status. If you're subject to the H-1B lottery, Intuit will register you in March for an October 1 start, so factor that timeline into any offer negotiation.
How do I apply for Product Software Engineer jobs at Intuit?
Apply directly through Intuit's careers site, where Product Software Engineer roles are listed by business unit and location. You can also browse open positions filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which surfaces Intuit listings specifically tagged for sponsored roles. Tailor your application to the platform and product area the role supports, since Intuit's engineering org is organized around distinct product lines.
Which visa types does Intuit commonly use for Product Software Engineer roles?
Intuit sponsors a broad range of visa categories for this function, including H-1B, E-3 visa for Australian nationals, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT and STEM OPT, J-1 visa, and Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 PERM. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and current immigration status, so raise it early in the recruiting process.
What qualifications does Intuit expect for Product Software Engineer roles?
Intuit typically looks for a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related technical field, along with hands-on experience building and shipping product features. For USCIS purposes, that degree requirement also satisfies the specialty occupation standard for H-1B sponsorship. Strong candidates usually bring experience with agile product development, API design, and working directly with product managers and designers.
How do I time a job offer at Intuit around my visa situation?
Timing depends heavily on your current status. If you're on OPT, your start date needs to fall within your authorized period, and Intuit will need lead time to prepare an H-1B registration before the March window. If you're transferring an existing H-1B, you can start after USCIS receives the petition. Discuss your situation with the recruiter at the offer stage, not after you've signed, so the team can align your start date with DOL and USCIS filing requirements.
