Target Oscar's tech and engineering teams first
Oscar Health operates as much like a tech company as an insurer. Software engineering, data science, and product roles are where sponsorship activity is strongest, prioritize these functions when tailoring your application.
Understand which visa types Oscar supports
Oscar sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and Green Card pathways. Knowing which category fits your status before you apply helps you ask the right questions and signals immigration awareness to recruiters.
Leverage Oscar's OPT and CPT history if you're on F-1
Oscar has sponsored F-1 OPT and CPT candidates, making it a realistic target for recent graduates. Highlight your STEM OPT eligibility upfront, it reduces the employer's short-term risk while H-1B sponsorship is arranged.
Research roles in clinical operations and health policy
Beyond tech, Oscar hires for roles in clinical strategy, health economics, and compliance. These functions require specialized degrees, which often support specialty occupation arguments, a meaningful factor when sponsorship is part of the conversation.
Apply ahead of H-1B cap season
Oscar participates in the annual H-1B lottery. To be registered in April, you need an offer in hand by March. Start your application process in January or February to give both sides enough time before the registration window closes.
Find verified Oscar Health openings on Migrate Mate
Not every job posting makes sponsorship eligibility clear. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and identify Oscar Health roles where international candidates are genuinely considered.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Oscar Health sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Oscar Health sponsors H-1B visas. It has a consistent history of filing H-1B petitions, particularly for roles in software engineering, data science, and product. If you're targeting Oscar on an H-1B, focus on technical and specialized roles where the degree-to-job match is straightforward, and plan your timeline around the April lottery registration window.
What visa types does Oscar Health sponsor?
Oscar Health sponsors a range of visa types including H-1B, TN visa, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1 visa, and Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 classifications. This breadth makes Oscar a realistic target regardless of whether you're a recent graduate on OPT, a Canadian or Mexican professional on TN visa status, or pursuing permanent residency.
Which departments at Oscar Health are most likely to offer visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Oscar Health is concentrated in technology-heavy functions, software engineering, data engineering, machine learning, and product management are the most active areas. Clinical operations, health economics, and actuarial roles are also worth targeting, as they typically require specialized degrees that support specialty occupation classification for H-1B purposes.
How do I find open roles at Oscar Health that include visa sponsorship?
Not all job postings explicitly state whether sponsorship is available, which makes filtering difficult on general job boards. Migrate Mate lets you browse Oscar Health openings with verified sponsorship history attached, so you can focus your time on roles where international candidates are genuinely considered rather than guessing from a job description.
How do I time my application to Oscar Health if I need H-1B sponsorship?
The H-1B lottery registration opens in March each year, and USCIS requires a valid job offer before registering. To hit that window, you should be interviewing and receiving an offer by late January or February at the latest. Oscar's recruiting cycles for technical roles often ramp up in Q1, which aligns well with this timeline if you engage early.
