Headquartered in Heber City, Utah, we offer powerline and substation construction and maintenance services in a variety of utility markets. Like many Quanta operating companies, Summit Line continues to experience significant growth. As our national operations expand, we seek motivated individuals to join the team!
ABOUT THIS ROLE
Company Overview:
Summit Line Construction is headquartered in Heber City, Utah with additional Utah locations in Sandy and Provo. You can also find us in Northern California, Reno, Las Vegas and Phoenix. We offer our team members competitive pay and benefits, rewarding work, growth opportunities, and a constructive and collaborative work environment.
Position Overview:
This role plants a technology and AI-driven problem solver directly on our construction projects. You won’t be in a back-office writing reports. You’ll be on the project, walking the site, sitting in planning meetings, and working shoulder-to-shoulder with project managers, engineers, and field leaders. You will be working closely with project management to develop better information flow, scheduling intelligence, risk detection, and reporting. This role is not limited to one project or one problem. You will support our portfolio of work and go where the highest-impact opportunities are.

Key Responsibilities:
Problem Identification & Ownership
- Understand manual processes, frustrations, and workarounds; match the right technology to each business problem
- Take ownership of broken processes and build solutions
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle: identify problems, prototype, iterate with users, and deploy into daily workflows
Solution Design & Development
- Design and deploy scalable solutions using modern technology with an AI-forward approach: AI-assisted development (Claude Code), data analytics, automation platforms, custom applications, integrations with existing construction systems.
- Build dashboards, automated reports, and data pipelines that give project leadership real-time visibility into what matters most.
AI & Technology Expertise
- Maintain strong knowledge of LLM capabilities, implementation patterns, and AI product development stacks
Stakeholder Management & Adoption
- Manage relationships across leadership, field teams, and corporate functions
- Align priorities, communicate progress, and drive adoption of new tools and processes
- Champion AI/technology adoption by providing hands-on mentorship and guidance to cross-functional teams
Cross-Functional Translation & Strategy
- Serve as the bridge between construction expertise and the rapidly evolving world of AI and technology
- Translate field needs into technical solutions and technical capabilities into practical applications
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Qualifications Required:
- 5+ years of experience in technical roles solving complex operational problems such as technology consulting, solution architecture, solutions engineering, construction technology, or a similar embedded technical role.
- Demonstrated ability to build custom applications, dashboards, systems and data integrations using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, as well as traditional code (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript) or low-code platforms.
- Fluency with modern AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar) and a track record of applying them to real-world operational problems.
- Strong technical aptitude: comfortable with data analysis, scripting, automation, and building workflows that connect systems and people.
- Proven stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication skills at any level.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 75%, including extended stays on project sites nationwide.

- Familiarity with Data Bricks.
- Background in engineering, computer science, management information systems, construction management, or a related field.
- Experience at a technology-focused consulting firm (Pariveda, Credera, Thoughtworks, Accenture, Deloitte, Slalom, or similar).

Align your credentials to energy infrastructure standards
Quanta operates in regulated energy environments where software engineers are expected to understand SCADA systems, grid operations, or utility asset management. Documenting relevant coursework, certifications, or project work in these areas strengthens your candidacy before you apply.
Target roles tied to field technology platforms
Quanta's Infrastructure Software Engineer openings frequently support workforce management and operational software for field crews. Searching for roles that mention GIS, mobile workforce tools, or asset tracking software narrows your focus to where technical hiring is most active.
Use Migrate Mate to surface sponsorship-confirmed openings
Not every job listing at Quanta will state visa sponsorship explicitly. Use Migrate Mate to filter Infrastructure Software Engineer roles at Quanta that are confirmed for H-1B, OPT, or TN sponsorship, so you are not applying blind.
Confirm OPT cap-gap coverage before your start date
If you are on F-1 OPT and your authorization expires before your H-1B takes effect on October 1, verify that your employer has filed your H-1B petition before April 1. A timely filing triggers cap-gap protection, keeping you authorized through the gap period.
Ask about internal transfer options across subsidiaries
Quanta operates through dozens of subsidiary companies in the energy and utility sector. If one subsidiary is moving slower on an offer, ask your recruiter whether a parallel opening exists under a related entity, since H-1B filings are employer-specific and each subsidiary files independently.
Prepare for DOL prevailing wage scrutiny in energy markets
Quanta's infrastructure projects often span multiple states and wage localities. Your H-1B Labor Condition Application must reflect the correct DOL prevailing wage for the worksite location, not the headquarters address. Confirm with the hiring team which office or project site is your primary worksite.

Confirming sponsorship availability on individual job postings before applying is the most reliable approach.
Which visa types are commonly used for Infrastructure Software Engineer roles at Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group?
H-1B is the most common visa category for Infrastructure Software Engineers at Quanta, covering full-time salaried hires. F-1 OPT and CPT are used for recent graduates entering the role through internships or post-graduation employment. What qualifications and experience are expected for Infrastructure Software Engineer roles at Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group?
Quanta typically expects a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field for Infrastructure Software Engineer roles. Hands-on experience with enterprise software systems, cloud infrastructure, or operational technology platforms used in energy and utility environments is valued. Familiarity with field operations workflows, asset management systems, or GIS tools can differentiate your application in a competitive candidate pool.
How do I apply for Infrastructure Software Engineer jobs at Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group?
You can apply directly through Quanta's careers portal or use Migrate Mate to find Infrastructure Software Engineer openings at Quanta that are confirmed for visa sponsorship. How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take at Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group?
The H-1B process follows a fixed annual timeline regardless of employer. Quanta must file your petition during the registration window in March, with a lottery selection typically announced by April. If selected, the petition is filed by June 30 for an October 1 start date. Premium processing is available and reduces USCIS adjudication to 15 business days, which is useful if your OPT expires close to the start date.
