Align your credentials with energy construction standards
Quanta's construction work falls under energy infrastructure, so licensing documentation matters. Gather any relevant trade certifications, OSHA safety training records, and state-issued contractor licenses before you apply, since these directly support the specialty occupation argument in an H-1B petition.
Target roles tied to active project pipelines
Quanta staffs up around awarded contracts for transmission lines, substations, and pipeline projects. Watch for Construction job postings that reference specific project regions or energy clients, as those positions are more likely to move quickly from offer to sponsorship filing.
Clarify sponsorship intent before the technical interview
Quanta's Construction hiring involves multiple interview rounds focused on field experience and safety compliance. Raise your visa status in the initial recruiter screen, not after a technical panel, so the hiring team can confirm sponsorship eligibility before investing significant time on both sides.
Understand TN category requirements for construction engineering
If you're Canadian or Mexican with an engineering degree, TN status can apply to construction-related roles at Quanta without the H-1B lottery. Confirm with DOL guidelines that your specific job title and duties align with an approved TN professional category before relying on this path.
Use OPT strategically to build a Quanta sponsorship case
F-1 OPT and CPT are recognized pathways at Quanta for Construction roles. Starting in a project engineering or field support capacity on OPT lets you demonstrate job performance before your employer initiates an H-1B petition, which strengthens the specialty occupation documentation USCIS reviews.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group sponsor H-1B visas for Construction roles?
Yes, Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group sponsors H-1B visas for Construction positions. The H-1B requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it must typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as civil, electrical, or structural engineering. Construction project management and engineering roles at Quanta generally meet this threshold, though field labor roles may not.
How do I apply for Construction jobs at Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group?
Apply through Quanta's careers portal directly, or browse their open Construction listings on Migrate Mate, which filters for roles open to visa-sponsored candidates. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect energy infrastructure project experience and any relevant safety certifications. During the recruiter screen, confirm visa sponsorship availability early so you're not advancing through a lengthy process without a clear answer.
Which visa types does Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group commonly use for Construction hires?
Quanta sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Construction roles, and also works with F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT candidates who are currently enrolled or recently graduated. TN visa status is another option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible engineering or technical categories. The right visa depends on your nationality, degree, and the specific Construction role you're targeting within the company.
What qualifications does Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group expect for Construction positions?
Construction roles at Quanta typically require a degree in civil, electrical, or structural engineering for project management and engineering-focused positions. For field and operations roles, demonstrated experience on energy infrastructure projects, OSHA 30 certification, and familiarity with utility or transmission construction practices carry significant weight. Roles that require H-1B sponsorship will need a clear connection between your degree field and the job's core duties.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Construction role at Quanta?
If you're on F-1 OPT, you can typically start work while your H-1B petition is pending, as long as your OPT is valid. Standard H-1B processing through USCIS takes three to five months; premium processing reduces that to roughly 15 business days. Quanta initiates the Labor Condition Application with DOL before filing the H-1B, so factor in several weeks of pre-filing preparation before the official USCIS clock starts.
