Align your degree with lending operations
Republic Finance's intern roles typically sit within consumer finance and branch operations. A degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration strengthens your specialty occupation case and makes visa sponsorship more straightforward for roles requiring that academic background.
Start CPT authorization before your offer letter
If you're on F-1 status, CPT must be authorized by your DSO before you start working. Coordinate with your international students office early so authorization is in place when Republic Finance extends an internship offer, not after.
Target branch markets with consistent intern hiring
Republic Finance operates branches across the South and Midwest. Research which states have active intern postings, as hiring concentration in specific markets often signals where sponsorship infrastructure and onboarding processes are most established for early-career roles.
Clarify OPT versus CPT with your recruiter early
Recruiters at financial services companies sometimes conflate CPT and OPT. Come into interviews knowing which authorization applies to your situation and be ready to explain the difference so the hiring team can loop in HR without delays to your start date.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open intern roles by sponsorship type
Republic Finance posts intern roles across multiple locations at the same time. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for positions matching your visa type so you apply to openings where your work authorization is already a confirmed fit.
Track your OPT end date against offer timing
The 60-day grace period after OPT expires does not authorize work. If your OPT end date falls mid-internship or shortly after your expected start date, raise this with HR before signing so they can assess whether a cap-gap or H-1B petition applies to your timeline.

Find Intern at Republic Finance JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Republic Finance sponsor H-1B visas for Interns?
Republic Finance has sponsored H-1B visas, including for roles in its financial services operations. For intern positions specifically, H-1B sponsorship is more likely to come into play when an internship converts to a full-time role. During the internship itself, most international candidates work under F-1 CPT or OPT rather than H-1B, since H-1B requires an employer petition and is subject to the annual cap and lottery.
How do I apply for Intern jobs at Republic Finance?
Intern openings at Republic Finance are posted on the company's careers page, typically organized by region and branch market. You can also browse current openings filtered by visa sponsorship compatibility on Migrate Mate. When applying, confirm your work authorization type upfront in your application or cover materials so the recruiting team can route your file to the right HR contact.
Which visa types are commonly used for Intern roles at Republic Finance?
F-1 CPT and F-1 OPT are the most practical work authorization types for international students in internship roles at Republic Finance. The company also has experience with J-1 intern and trainee programs, which are common in financial services. TN status applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. H-1B is more relevant when an internship transitions into a full-time position.
What qualifications are expected for Intern roles at Republic Finance?
Republic Finance intern roles are typically aimed at students pursuing degrees in finance, business, accounting, or a related field. Prior coursework in credit analysis, financial modeling, or consumer lending is an advantage. Many intern positions are branch-based, so candidates who can demonstrate interest in retail financial services and customer-facing roles tend to be more competitive than those with only back-office or technical backgrounds.
How do I time my visa status and application to avoid a gap in work authorization?
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT start and end dates before accepting any offer. CPT requires your DSO to authorize each specific position before your first day, so allow at least two to three weeks for processing. If your internship is likely to convert to full-time employment, discuss H-1B sponsorship timelines with HR well before the April USCIS registration window to avoid a gap between OPT expiration and H-1B status.
