Tailor your resume for regulated software environments
Shermco operates in medical devices, where software roles often require familiarity with FDA compliance frameworks like 21 CFR Part 11 or IEC 62304. Highlighting any experience with validated systems or regulated development cycles will strengthen your application before it reaches a recruiter.
Verify your degree field matches the role
For H-1B or EB-2 sponsorship, USCIS requires your degree to directly relate to the job duties. A Computer Science or Software Engineering degree maps cleanly, but if your background is in a related field, gather documentation showing how your coursework aligns with Shermco's technical requirements.
Target open roles by engineering function, not job title alone
Shermco posts Software Engineer roles across multiple operational areas. Search by department or project type to find positions tied to product development or infrastructure, since these are more likely to involve long-term sponsorship through PERM than short-term contract roles.
Clarify your OPT or CPT timeline early in conversations
If you're on F-1 OPT, your authorization window is fixed. Bring up your work authorization status and end date before an offer is extended so Shermco's HR team can coordinate H-1B or EB filing timelines with your status expiration, avoiding gaps that require bridge strategies.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Shermco's open Software Engineer roles
Finding roles that align with both your technical background and visa needs takes precision. Use Migrate Mate to browse Shermco Industries' Software Engineer postings filtered by visa sponsorship type, so you're applying to positions where your work authorization category is already supported.
Confirm PERM eligibility if you're pursuing a Green Card
Shermco sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, both requiring DOL PERM labor certification. The PERM process requires Shermco to document that no qualified U.S. worker is available, so roles with specialized medical device software skills are a stronger fit for this pathway than generalist positions.

Find Software Engineer at Shermco Industries JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Shermco Industries sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineers?
Shermco Industries sponsors multiple visa types for Software Engineers, but its documented sponsorship activity centers on immigrant pathways including EB-2 and EB-3, along with F-1 OPT, CPT, TN, and J-1. If H-1B sponsorship is your primary need, confirm the specific role's eligibility directly with Shermco's HR or talent acquisition team before investing time in the application process.
How do I apply for Software Engineer jobs at Shermco Industries?
You can browse and apply for Software Engineer positions at Shermco Industries through their careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type. When applying, emphasize any experience in regulated industries, particularly medical devices or safety-critical software, since Shermco's engineering environment involves compliance-driven development practices.
Which visa types does Shermco Industries commonly use for Software Engineer roles?
Shermco sponsors Software Engineers through F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3. The TN visa is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles. EB-2 and EB-3 require PERM labor certification filed with the DOL and are suited for candidates seeking permanent residency.
What qualifications does Shermco Industries expect from Software Engineer candidates?
Shermco's Software Engineer roles typically require a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field. Given the company's work in medical devices, experience with compliance standards such as FDA validation requirements or quality management systems is a meaningful differentiator. Proficiency in embedded systems, enterprise applications, or infrastructure tooling depends on the specific team.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take when joining Shermco Industries as a Software Engineer?
Timeline depends on the visa category. F-1 OPT authorization is already in place when you start. TN status can be obtained at the border or port of entry, often on the same day. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways involve PERM labor certification with the DOL, followed by an I-140 petition with USCIS, and can take two or more years depending on your country of birth and visa backlog.
