Obtain NFPA 70E and OSHA Certifications First
Shermco prioritizes safety-credentialed electricians in regulated environments like medical device facilities. Holding current NFPA 70E arc flash and OSHA 30 certifications before applying signals job-readiness and reduces employer hesitation around sponsorship overhead.
Target Shermco Locations Near Medical Device Clusters
Shermco operates across multiple U.S. regions, but facilities near medical device manufacturing hubs tend to have the most consistent Industrial Electrician demand. Research which branch offices serve those corridors and apply directly to those locations.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Active Industrial Electrician Openings
Shermco posts Industrial Electrician roles frequently across locations, and availability shifts fast. Migrate Mate filters open positions by visa sponsorship eligibility, helping you identify which postings are realistically accessible for your visa situation.
Clarify Your OPT or TN Status Early in Outreach
If you're on F-1 OPT or TN status, confirm your authorization dates before your first interview. Shermco's hiring teams need to know your work authorization window to assess whether STEM OPT extension timelines or TN renewal cycles align with project staffing needs.
Understand the PERM Timeline Before Accepting an Offer
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, your employer must complete DOL's PERM labor certification before filing with USCIS. This process takes a year or more in many cases. Negotiate a clear written commitment to initiate PERM within a defined period of your start date.
Document Hands-On High-Voltage and Switchgear Experience Precisely
Shermco's Industrial Electrician work often involves switchgear testing and high-voltage systems in sensitive facility environments. Your resume should list specific equipment types, voltage ratings, and industry contexts worked in, not just general electrical experience.

Find Industrial Electrician at Shermco Industries JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Shermco Industries sponsor H-1B visas for Industrial Electricians?
Shermco Industries' primary sponsorship pathways for Industrial Electricians are employment-based Green Card categories like EB-2 and EB-3, along with F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 statuses. H-1B sponsorship is less common for trades roles because Industrial Electrician positions are typically classified as skilled trades rather than specialty occupations under USCIS definitions, which is the threshold H-1B requires.
Which visa types does Shermco Industries commonly sponsor for Industrial Electricians?
Shermco sponsors Industrial Electricians through F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying trades categories, J-1 for eligible exchange visitors, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. EB-3 is especially relevant for skilled trades workers who meet the experience requirements but may not hold a four-year degree.
What qualifications and experience does Shermco Industries expect for Industrial Electrician roles?
Shermco typically looks for journeyman-level experience or a completed electrical apprenticeship, familiarity with industrial electrical systems including switchgear and motor controls, and safety credentials like NFPA 70E. In medical device facility contexts, experience working in regulated or cleanroom-adjacent environments is a meaningful differentiator. A valid state journeyman or master electrician license is required in many states where Shermco operates.
How do I apply for Industrial Electrician jobs at Shermco Industries?
You can apply directly through Shermco's careers page or find visa-sponsorship-eligible postings through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by work authorization type so you can focus on positions that match your visa situation. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight specific electrical systems experience relevant to industrial and medical device facility environments, and confirm work authorization details early in the process.
How do I plan my timeline if Shermco Industries is sponsoring my Green Card?
EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship begins with DOL's PERM labor certification process, which takes roughly one to two years before USCIS filing. If you're from a country with high demand like India, priority date backlogs can extend the total timeline significantly. Maintain valid work authorization throughout by tracking your OPT or TN expiration and initiating renewals well before USCIS's recommended filing windows.
