Earn certifications that match field requirements
Shermco's Service Technician roles require hands-on technical credentials, not just a degree. Prioritize certifications in electrical systems, medical equipment maintenance, or relevant safety standards before applying. Employers in this space treat certifications as a baseline, not a bonus.
Target roles in underserved field locations
Shermco staffs technicians across a wide geographic footprint. Locations with fewer local candidates are more likely to support visa sponsorship to fill gaps. Search for openings in smaller metros or industrial corridors, not just major cities where competition is highest.
Browse open roles through Migrate Mate first
Shermco posts Service Technician roles across multiple job boards, but not all listings signal sponsorship availability. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for sponsored positions, so you're only spending time on applications where your visa situation won't disqualify you at the offer stage.
Understand how PERM timing affects your start date
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship requires DOL PERM labor certification before USCIS filing, which adds months to the process. If you're already abroad, plan for this timeline before signing anything. Ask the recruiter whether Shermco has in-house immigration counsel or uses outside legal support.
Frame field experience in technical, not abstract terms
Service Technician interviews at companies like Shermco focus on what equipment you've worked on, what failures you've diagnosed, and how you've handled on-site emergencies. Quantify the scope of past work, the systems involved, and any compliance or documentation requirements you've managed.

Find Service Technician at Shermco Industries JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Shermco Industries sponsor H-1B visas for Service Technicians?
Shermco Industries does not appear to be a regular H-1B sponsor for Service Technician roles. The company's sponsorship activity for this function is more commonly associated with employment-based Green Card pathways like EB-2 and EB-3, along with F-1 OPT, CPT, TN, and J-1 statuses. If H-1B sponsorship matters to your timeline, confirm directly with Shermco's HR team before advancing through the process.
How do I apply for Service Technician jobs at Shermco Industries?
Applications go through Shermco's careers page or job boards where they post openings. To find roles that explicitly support visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate to filter Shermco's listings by sponsorship type. When you apply, note your work authorization status in your cover materials so the recruiting team can assess fit from the start rather than raising it late in the process.
Which visa types are commonly used for Service Technician roles at Shermco Industries?
Shermco has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card petitions for technical staff, which suits candidates in skilled roles requiring a degree or substantial experience. F-1 OPT and CPT work for current students or recent graduates in qualifying fields. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible technical classifications. J-1 is less common for this role type but has been used in some cases.
What qualifications does Shermco Industries expect for Service Technician candidates?
Shermco typically looks for candidates with hands-on experience servicing electrical, industrial, or medical equipment, combined with relevant technical certifications. A degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or a related field strengthens EB-2 or EB-3 eligibility if you're pursuing a Green Card pathway. Field troubleshooting experience, familiarity with safety compliance protocols, and the ability to travel to customer sites are commonly listed requirements across open postings.
How do I plan my timeline if Shermco offers Green Card sponsorship for a Service Technician role?
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship starts with DOL PERM labor certification, which can take six months or longer before USCIS even receives the petition. If your current status has a hard end date, such as an OPT window, discuss bridging options with Shermco's immigration team early. Nationals from high-demand countries like India or China should also factor in priority date backlogs, which can extend the overall timeline significantly beyond the filing stage.
